That's fine if they keep floating the Sen. from AZ. It will be a letdown with Kerry ultimately settles on the actual candidate. A candidate that won't outshine him on the same stage. Somehow, a more boring candidate.

I think Kerry is in real trouble trying to find an acceptable VP candidate. Either the frontrunners are failing the vetting or realize it is a bad career decision. I am sure McCain loves the publicity but he is not going to take that kind of a risk. The Dems are trying to find some sort of manly person to put on the ticket and they are in short supply in the party.

Oh God No! The manliest person they have is Janet Reno.

If it's really so unthinkable, why does it continually keep resurfacing?"

It keeps resurfacing to try and keep the dead horse awake.

McCain said repeatedly, not only would he not take the VP slot if offered he would accept NO POSITION in a Kerry administration.

He said I don't know how to make it any plainer than that.

Don't you think McCain knows what Kerry did to the troops in Vietnam with his VVAW group? Would you work for this guy after that.

The NYTs is orgasmic over a dry hole.

Ellen Ratner on F&F now purely giddy over the prospect of McCain being the VP pick. She adores him. Did not even flinch when Jim Pinkerton started rattling off McCain's pro-life stance, votes for Bork and Clarence Thomas etc. The Dems are in a pretty sad state.

1. This won't happen because McCain may be many things but he ain't stupid.

He would be seen as a traitor by both bases and they wouldn't vote for him......the GOP faithful would hate him forever and he would lose his senate seat if he lost the elcetion, and the rumprs would start that this is a GOP ploy to retain power and the dem base would flee.

I saw Peters' interview with Cavuto this morning on the rerun. He was almost twitching with venom for Rummy.

"Mr. McCain is also well aware that his power and influence in Washington derives from his candor, "

McCain has no special power and influence other than what the old media give him.

He's worth more to Kerry as an honest impartial statesman who puts aside partisan politics to candidly admit how bad Bush is and how great Kerry is.

Were he nominated VP the Bush surrogates would be free to leak the whole truth about McCain's vendetta against Bush. He would be easy to define as an embittered childish paranoid and would lose his value as being above partisanship.

The only thing he would have to do is say, `I'm not going to appoint any judges who would overturn Roe v. Wade,' " the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion

What a good Catholic!

Uh, I hate to make you sound like John Kerry, but I think you answered your question before you asked your question.

Are all the other pols in the dem party, including btw, HRH Hillary! really going to stand for JFK putting McCain on the ticket? This would ensure that, win or lose, McCain would jump to the front of the pack for the dem '08 nomination?

I will neve give him serious consideration again after seeing his diatribe against Rumsfield. Cavuto tried to pin him down, but he quoted one unnamed lt col. in Iraq.

I see this babble by the slimes in a very different light than most of you. The D party is in such a sad state that their best hope is to convince a Republican to run on their party ticket. I see it as the beginning of the end. The D party no longer represents a coherent political philosophy, not even the socialism most of them espouse. It is a collection of special interest groups, and many of their demands are contradictory...like poor blacks wanting school vouchers to escape the hell holes that the NEA has turned their public schools into. The contradictions are bubbling to the surface.

Ronald Reagan was the absolute best at presenting our philosophy and perspective. GWB very well may be the absolute best at getting the opposition to make serious blunders. He very well may destroy the D party by the time he is done with them...in '08.

- It's an old magicians trick - distraction. While you're busy watching the left hand waving McCain about, the right hand is holding Hitlery up it's sleeve.
