Sadly, the item on WWII balloons is mainly wrong. The balloons came much later in the war, started fires in the Northwest, and killed a man and some others who found the bomb in the forest.
Re the Berg murder, the media has all but covered up the real reason for his murder--being an "infidel", i.e., non-Muslim and being Jewish. Anyone in Iraq who is not Muslim is at risk.
CBSABCCNNNBCP(p)MSNBC will never ever let that cat out of the bag. For liberals it is only the Christians who are evil.
Quite true. I don't know how they can sleep at night.
Bingo. We will not forget you Presstitutes. -Indie
But instead, the producers at CBS decided to declare war on the United States and published the pictures. They asked the question "who does this serve" and the answer was themselves.
And then again, maybe NOT ........time will tell. I never watch their crap. I'm more interested in journalism.
We are two nations and it is time to sunder the union.
Bump.
If anything CBS complied with a request from the Chairmen of the Joint Chief of Staff to not run this story due to the heightened tension in Iraq. It only went forward when the story was going to break in other media anyway and DOD decided to cooperate with CBS and get their version out front first.
Here is a link to the original CBS story (note the disclaimer at the botton of the story)

I knew it happened but didn't realize that 3 people had died as a result.
BTW.. It wasn't too many years ago that I was surprised to find that FDR was confined to a wheelchair.
Seems the press waited until he had pulled himself, or was helped, to a standing position behind the podium before they snapped pictures.
How about the main point of the balloon story?
-- that the media did not report it, because it would be giving valuable info to the enemy. Any idea if that part is corect?
I heard that in WWII the big east coast radio stations limited their weather reports because it could help the Germans know what kind of weather was coming their way.
Geesh- 3 people were killed by these ballons (and it is old news for any History Channel watcher). I am sure the 150,000 in Hiroshima and Nagasaki that we incinerated give two cups of tea- not to mention the 100,000 more we burned alive in Tokoyo.
