Just BTW, I love birds... we have the "endangered" red cockaded woodpeckers around here, and of course the claim is that they can only live in Old Growth Forests, so we can't log or clear these areas.
Just one little problem- we live in a small city, and there's nary an old growth forest to be found- the pulpwooders harvested the surrounding county decades ago, and most of the trees are husbanded- plant, grow, harvest, then replant.
And naturally, we are up to our ears in the little red-headed devils- they have a weird jungle bird cry right out of the old tarzan movies, and you hear & see them all over the place. Pecking away at... new trees!
Spotted owls have been known to live in Wal-Mart signs as well. Too funny.
