She was broadcasting from Kuwait from a forward position. She announced that the troops were on their way at the moment they jumped off.

Apparantly Swartzkopf just about disemboweled the 2nd Lt. that was supposed to keep her under control.

You will notice that she hasn't been overseas on assignment near the military since.
