S. Korean court restores president

SEOUL -- South Korea's Constitutional Court rejected the impeachment of the national president in a final ruling announced today, restoring Roh Moo-hyun to his post.

"There are no reasons which are grave enough to remove the president from office," said Yun Young-chul, court president, announcing the ruling at a public hearing carried on national television.

I had read in another article that - prior to his impeachment - Roh had pledged 3000 troops to Iraq.

I think his restoration is good news for the Coalition in Iraq. His impeachment replacement would not have had the stature to get troop approval passed in parliament.

I should add that he seemed to act with quite a bit of dignity during his brief exile..
