The Government has failed to prove that the Daily Mirror's pictures of alleged Iraqi prisoner abuse are fake, the newspaper's editor said.
Piers Morgan called on ministers to bring the soldiers responsible for allegedly mistreating Iraqi prisoners to book.
And he rejected as "nonsense" accusations from armed forces minister Adam Ingram that he had not co-operated with the Ministry of Defence investigation into the torture claims.
In a statement Mr Morgan said: "We have listened to what Mr Ingram has said today but he has still not produced incontrovertible evidence that the pictures are faked."
The injunction banning details of Maxine Carr's new identity is one of the most robust yet seen, a leading lawyer said.
Blanket measures prohibiting information on every aspect of Carr's whereabouts, appearance and movements are "extraordinary", media lawyer Mark Stephens said.
He said he expected Carr to be protected by the High Court for the foreseeable future but stressed the order was only an interim measure and could still be toned down.

But these photographs were just one piece of evidence about one incident.There is, of course, a much bigger issue here that we make no apology for highlighting - which is that the pictures accurately illustrated the reality about the appalling conduct of some British troops.
