Wow!
I heard he had no gear with him...
Also word is he was in Iraq to help his relative set up an e-mail account which makes no sense unless he was such a computer techie that he could set up an account that was untracable.
You are a stronger person than I...I can't type after drinking :)
OTOH I have heard via Iraq that the orange jumpsuits are Iraqi Mukhabarat (intel) issue, the room does NOT appear to be in a regular house, the chairs and paint seem similar, Berg looks far paler and thinner than he did before he disappeared--and this had to be done in a place where so much blood and the screaming would be unremarked on--It is growing increasingly likely to me that he was held and slaughtered in a Mukhabarat safe house in or near Baghdad.
Is there a good reason that this thread died out suddenly?
Yes, my head hurt so much I had to leave for awhile...Maybe others are exhausted also ;-)
Good summary of the Mystery of Nick Berg.
The Bergs best friend said that after the funeral, the Bergs will be going away for awhile. Wonder if the FBI will tail them.
And what of Nick's mother? I haven't seen her at all on TV. Divorced from the ANSWER man, the father??
Did you leave out fact he had Uncle in Mosul?
Had seen a reference to an uncle in Mosul on another thread. Found on item at Dallas News http://www.dallasnews.com/
May 13
"Michael Berg told the AP that Nick's paternal aunt, now dead, married an Iraqi man named Mudafer, who became close to Nick. In one of the e-mails, Nick Berg describes going to the northern city of Mosul, where he introduced himself to Mudafer's brother, identified as Moffak Mustaffa.
"We got along splendidly," Mr. Berg wrote. "We spent a few hours and I helped him establish an e-mail account."
Shokran.
Afwan ;-)
Nick Berg-- yesterday's news.
Tomorrow it will be back to those awful Americans and the mean things they did to those nice men at Abu Ghraib.
In case you didn't see the article on FR, the FBI interviewed Berg's family while Nick was in Iraq but before he was murdered; I think they were looking for more information, beyond what must have been stated on his application to go there, as to why he was there. I don't recall much about the article but I do remember how odd it seemed that it happened.
Unfortunately true.
Related to selective coverage, they held a briefing today on the discovered sarin and one dimbulb reporter asked about Abu Ghraib...
Reactions to that are here

Who was this idiot reporter?
Name and employer, please. They deserve some angry FReepmail.
