Did anyone catch ABC World News Tonight a bit ago? Curbside interview with Berg's father where he said (I believe I'm recalling this verbatum): "al Qaeda is almost as bad as Bush and Rumsfeld".
I don't know which one is worse ... Berg's father for saying it, or ABCNews for having the temerity to actually air it.

I'm certain Mr. Berg was conforted by the gaunt, horse-faced candidate's soothing words. One leftist to another.

"Who's using who?"
From what I understand, it was Kerry who phoned Mr. Berg, and it was Kerry who used Berg's murder in letters to raise money for his campaign. While Mr. Berg has his own reasons to blame the President (although wrongfully), I believe it's motivated by his loss, whereas Kerry's holding his hand out to Mr. Berg isn't motivated by any true feeling of grief, but only to further himself politically. So who's using who?

"Definitely another crocodile-tear Wellstone funeral rally about to happen. "My son is dead...so vote for Kerry!"
Excellent point.

"Very Clintonesque....."
Let's see if Kerry takes it one step farther and attends the funeral or has he already been buried?

Figures. I feel like I'm watching my country slip into hell.

"He met him for lunch in a NY restaurant. It is amazing who you can meet at restaurants, including grieving fathers and world leaders."
I wonder who paid the tab. Didn't Kerry go into the kitchen to see if the workers had health insurance?

"Who's using who?" For now, it makes an interesting rhetorical question.

"This family is hiding something. Haven't figured out what."
Well it's no secret that the father is a flaming liberal a-hole.

But that part's out in the open, so to speak.

For the record, I was joking about meeting in a restaurant. I was mocking Kerry for his stupid I-meet-world-leaders-at-restaurants comment. That story about him leaving the restaurant because workers didn't have health insurance is too funny. Who set that gig up for him?

My guess is he'll be on Larry King on Monday.

"I think Mr. Berg may have befriended the wrong people, and was tricked by them, and found himself face to face with some very evil people."
Replace Mr. Berg with Danny Pearl.

At the rate things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to Kerry carrying Berg's head with him on stump speeches.
Truly sickening.

After I wrote and sent my post on its way, I continued reading down the thread and found your post about it all being a joke. It was funny nonetheless.
The barbecue restaurant gig was set up for him by a Congresswoman named Brown. According to the American Spectator article, the Kerry camp had specifically asked her to set up an appearance for him so he could rub elbows with "common people." I'm wondering if he at least told the workers he'd been in Vietnam before he hit the road. The whole incident seemed rather bizarre. How do you ask a fellow elected official to set up an appearance for you, then you repay her by walking out? I wonder if she's still talking to him.

Wonder who will be giving the RATs' radio address this week?
