PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The father of Nick Berg, the Pennsylvania contractor beheaded in Iraq (news - web sites), on Thursday directly blamed President Bush (news - web sites) and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his son's death.
"My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this," Berg said in the interview with radio station KYW-AM.
In the radio interview from outside his home in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a seething Michael Berg also said his son probably would have felt positive even about his executioners until the last minute.
"I am sure that he only saw the good in his captors until the last second of his life," Berg said.
Then, referring to his son's executioners, he said: "They did not know what they were doing. They killed their best friend."
Two days after the publication of a video showing the execution of his son by five masked men, Berg attacked Bush administration for its invasion of Iraq and its sponsorship of the Patriot Act, which gave increased powers of surveillance to the federal government.
Berg described the Patriot Act as a "coup d'etat." He added: "It's not the same America I grew up in."

To the avowed secularist, a "sin" is anything which impedes the "progress" of humanity and its socialist destiny.

I never thought about the Arab thing...For this I am sorry. Will not post again.

It boggles the mind.If this were an isolated example, it would only boggle the mind. But this attitude is symptomatic of a mental sickness that is rampant in our country...or at least in the "Blue" portions of our country.

Berg the Younger was Jesus Christ?I guess, then, that Berg the Elder is saying he's God the Father.

I believe you asked ( after looking back) why I did not post? I chose to be informed first, I did not spy on folks, But basically " lurked" as many folks do here. It just hit me a few minutes ago, again between kids and out, about the Arab thing....Am VERY sorry for ANY problems my argument caused, I forgot, There are many sick people in the world who DO watch this site....
To: Taffini
I'm beginning to think that part of the mental illness that is liberalism is that hard-core leftists don't have a sincere emotion in their bodies...everything is done for the cameras, and for political spin.

I feel bad for any parent going through what these parents are going through, but what this father said today was totally SICK SICK SICK. It raises a LOT of questions in my mind.

"It sounds like he was just a guy with a heart for helping people. It chills my bones to read some others saying he died because he was stupid. He died because he was murdered."
Well said.

After reading your post #148 and now this one (#172), I've come to the conlusion that you are a kook-- and a pretty abrasive one, too.
To: bert
berg died because he was stupid. He had no business in Iraq.
Don't forget this part: ...and his father was equally stupid for not doing something to stop him from going there. His father is also stupid for not blaming the guy wielding the dull knife for the death of his son.
To: Clara Lou
What I find interisting is that with all the Berg info and hype, there really isn't anything there. This is really, really fishy.

Michael Berg has always thought Bush was wrong - ever since Dubya got a phone call from Al Gore in the wee hours of Nov. 8, 2000 letting him know that he was retracting his concession.
I know the man is grieving and I feel for him and his whole family for the loss of Nick and how it came about, but today I've got Fox on in the background and the guy's riding around on his bicycle, helmut and all.

Now the mainstream news media will pay attention to the slaughter of Nick Berg - only cause Daddy is blaming Bush and Rumsfield.
I expect another Senate committee investigation on this event any minute now.
