PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The father of Nick Berg, the Pennsylvania contractor beheaded in Iraq (news - web sites), on Thursday directly blamed President Bush (news - web sites) and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for his son's death.
"My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this," Berg said in the interview with radio station KYW-AM.
In the radio interview from outside his home in West Chester, Pennsylvania, a seething Michael Berg also said his son probably would have felt positive even about his executioners until the last minute.
"I am sure that he only saw the good in his captors until the last second of his life," Berg said.
Then, referring to his son's executioners, he said: "They did not know what they were doing. They killed their best friend."
Two days after the publication of a video showing the execution of his son by five masked men, Berg attacked Bush administration for its invasion of Iraq and its sponsorship of the Patriot Act, which gave increased powers of surveillance to the federal government.
Berg described the Patriot Act as a "coup d'etat." He added: "It's not the same America I grew up in."

What a dishonor to his son's memory and beliefs. His son supported his president and the War on Terror. Shame on his weak-kneed father.

We should encourage this Micheal Berg to keep talking. Perhaps a good chance the Rats will invite him to be a spotlight speaker at their National Convention. To cheers and applause of the Rat Party, he will spout off Bull-___T on prime time TV, making a fool of himself and the pacifists, turning off large large amounts of the population. Keep talking, ANSWER Dummy!

====================================
I have called for not criticizing him and allowing him to grieve for the loss of his son. Apparently, however, he does not want to grieve. He wants to blame the president instead of the murdering sub-humans who took his son's life. I am still calling for compassion, but I don't know how long it will last.
Mr. Berg, your son was not their best friend. He was trying to do his part to help build a free society. The animals who killed your son don't give a damn about that. They want their Islamofascist society. They will kill you and the rest of your family if you give them a chance. You are the one who does not know what he is doing.

It is interesting that before Berg died, he was yelling Why, Why, Why? Could it be that he was there as a war protestor? If so, all of his actions would make more sense but even so, it still does not give these "too scared to show their faces cowards" the right to murder him!!!

Wow.I need to vent. I always see on this "list" how everyone is against the democrats, How the DU is against the republicans. How the republicans are all " Pro Bush" and Pro the war. I am NOT sorry for what we did, But I am sorry for where we are now. I KNOW we are fighting an enemy that Knows less about the Geneva conventions than our own soldiers do. They don't care...
Lets review the video .....Graphic folks that we are.
They did not, as the networks say...." behead" him". The SAWED HIS HEAD OFF, VERY SLOWLY, WITH A DULL BLADE. The video took well over a minute, Never mind the terroe he felt in his heart beforehand.
If YOU want that to be your son or daughter.......
Tell them to volunteer......NOW.
Give the man time to grieve...
and at this point, Shut up, Until YOU have walked a mile in his shoes....

I know, but I'm not ready to condemn this man, whatever his political leanings. Just don't think that's appropriate right now.
Listen, I thought it was wierd that Berg's family was out in the grass, crying and carrying on. I believe my family would be inside the house comforting each other in private, and they certainly wouldn't have had immediate access to a spokesman. But it's just too early to question or condemn. In an instance like this, I'm sure the truth will out, without our side going on the offense.

He added: "It's not the same America I grew up in."That's right. The America he grew up in, the people supported the POTUS, we had reporters rather than journalists out to put a scandalous spin on everything, and the people were loyal to the US and it's military. Back in his day, he'd be called a Communist.

Then, referring to his son's executioners, he said: "They did not know what they were doing. They killed their best friend." This guy has raised "dumbass" to a new level.
Even a dumb effing mule will get the message if you smack him in the head with a 2x4.
They want to kill infidels, you jackass moron. Me, you, your son, your daughter, your wife, your mother, your neighbors. Everybody who is not a fanatical muslim, you stupid stupid stupid man.
Thank you for saying what I'm feeling in my heart. I'm sorry for their loss, but that has nothing to do with his actions now. He was a RAT working for ANSWER before his son died, he's a RAT now using his son's death to try and unseat President Bush, and he'll probably be a RAT when he dies by the hands of his best friends. Demon possessed, radical, Muslim savages.
I'm appalled that ANYONE, even a RAT, could politicize their own son's death. I thank God that I'm not a Muslim or a RAT! They are ALL mentally ill.

My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld.Berg the Younger was Jesus Christ? Kind of a reach, if you ask me.

Mike, I'll allow this grieving fathers' ranting and raving as a result of what happened.........but not for long. I HATE what happened to Nick Berg. He sounds like a good son, a foolish one, but a good one. Too bad his Daddy is a loon.

I agree with your points--I've cut the father and family a lot of slack up till reading this latest and couldn't help but note that even as he denounces Bush and Rumsfeld (I would have kept silent) he goes on about his son being a friend to his killers! Just had to note what misguided thinking that is.
Good point on Hamill. Naturally Hammill praised Bush AND worked for Halliburton. Double points against him. /sarcasm
I did see this morning on Fox that Hammill threw out a ball at a game last night and got wild applause and a standing O. Sensible Americans.

I always wonder how people run to the media when there is a death. Doesnt anyone mourn anymore? I would be in seclusion and in mourning I would not speak to anyone. I just don't understand. This also happens with parents of kidnapped and murdered children. They are in front of the camera the very next day. I guess I just don't understand.
