Oklahoma lawmakers see new abuse photos
Inhofe says fresh images aren't that much worse.
By Chris Casteel, Washington Bureau
Oklahoma federal lawmakers Wednesday viewed fresh photos of Iraqi prisoner abuse at the hands of American soldiers.
Sen Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, said the photos were "actually nothing much different than we've already seen. I was surprised. I was expecting to see things that were a whole lot worse.
"A lot of the pictures didn't have any of the detainees in them. They showed seriouis behavioral problems by the seven prison guards."
He said the pictures shouldl not have been taken because it is against the Geneva Convention to prhotograph prisoners. But he said the fact that the behavior was investigated and the garduards are being charged "shows that part of the system is working."
Outraged at outrage
Inhofe, who said Tuesday that he was more outraged at the outrage than he was at the treatment of the prisoners, said Wednesday that he didn't think the prictures viewed privately by lawmakers should be released by the government. But he said he had no doubt they would get out somehow.
Sen. Don Nickles, R-Ponca City, viewed the Pentagon photos Wednesday and released a statement about the entire situation.
"The photos from Abu Ghraib Prison have damaged our efforts to restor peace, freedom and stable government to Iraq," Nickles said.
"The individuals responsible for these criminal actions should -- and I believe will -- be brought to justice as as possible. As of now, I have no reason to believe that this is anything but the action of a few bad individuals."

More from Senator Inhofe -- the outrage of the RATs was another orchestrated maneuver IMHO. According to Senator Inhofe (who I believe), the photos were not that much worse and very few prisoners were in the photos.
That speaks volumes about the agenda of the Congressional RATs -- they do belong in the sewer for what they are attempting to do and that is to undermine this Administration and our military while we are fighting the War on Terrorism. Obviously the beheading of a young man and 9-11 mean nothing to these lowlifes that continue to lie and attack!

More honest talk from Senator Inhofe that puts what the RATs are saying about the additional photos in question. Please make sure this gets around to everyone you know so the truth can get out since the vast majority of the media would rather go with the RAT spin!

This is what i posted in an earlier thread.
Watching FOX and friends this morning i got the impression that the photos viewed by senators really weren't worse than what we've allready seen. It sounds to me like the worst "abuse" was shoving a glow stick up a prisoners butt. My wife preforms worse "tourtures" than that every day at the hospital.
It sounds like there was no rape of prisoners by either Brittish or American soldiers. And the only photos of sex are those taken of sex between soldiers.

I don't know why any democrat would say they are shocked at these photos because it has been the democrats which have taught and encouraged this type of behavior in America and its schools.Inholf is right, these photos are nothing and besides,WHO CARES?
To: PhiKapMom
"A lot of the pictures didn't have any of the detainees in them. They showed serious behavioral problems by the seven prison guards"Since the Dems seemed to back off so quickly after seeing all the photos, and the only person I heard calling for their release was a Republican (at least on the news broadcast I was watching), I'm beginning to wonder if there is credibility in the theory that the pictures reflected the "don't ask, don't tell" policies.

Good news about Fox and Friends from this morning. Yesterday's comments by the RATs at how horrible were obviously not the facts. The truth is winning out once again because a Senator spoke out! Wish we had more in Congress that would be willing to speak the TRUTH!

Today, the Atlanta Journal and Constipation has the Prisoner Abuse story on Page One, as it has now for days.
Nick Berg's beheading is now on page 12 Of the AJC.
Yesterday, the lead story on page one of the AJC was that Phillips Arena didn't have the necessary fire permits.
Below that was Nick Berg's story.
This is "Discredit George W Bush" season for the AJC. Fortunately, Georgia is a conservative southern state. The AJC belongs up north somewhere, not here.
Three cheers for the Daily Oklahoman.

Best newspaper in America if you ask me!
Now for some other "important" news -- reported this morning in The Oklahoman that Rhett Bomar, the #1 quarterback recruit in the Country, is tired of baseball and will be on campus 1 June! YEA! So much for the media spin he was going to sign a baseball contract!

You are very fortunate to have Sen. Inhofe. I was so impressed with him the other day.
I was home all by myself watching the hearing and when he spoke I jumped up and cheered!
I did call his office by the way. And sent a fax yesterday.

Don't ask, don't tell came immediately to mind when I heard most of the photos were of the guards themselves. That would be worth all of this feigned outrage by the media and the RATs if that was the case!

Thanks much!
When we moved here from Texas I was unhappy to not have Phil Gramm as my Senator but I am extremely happy with Sen Inhofe -- he is always saying what I am thinking!

The fact that Chuck Schumer said he was against releasing them leads me to believe that they are not much worse than the original photos.
He's betting that their overblown rhetoric about them will be more damaging than the actual images.

What happened to Democrat talking point number ?? "It's only about sex."

I've turned off my tv, including Fox, all I see is wall to wall on this 'abuse'. No countering segments on what GOOD we are doing over there. Next week the media will have another HIT piece to bring Dubya's ratings down some more.

I just heard it said on Fox that Lynndie England was shown to have multiple sex partners. I knew about the guy who is supposedly her baby's father, but this was first I'd heard of this.

Note the the local ABC station (KOCO) deleted the portion where he said he was outraged at the outrage. I had to explain the context to dear hubby.
