No, "Angel" is a sci-fi/fantasy epic spun off from Buffy the Vampire-Slayer. Angel is a vampire cursed by Gypsies to be burdened with a soul [vampires are, in general, soul-less creatures]. He was in love with Buffy but he realized that his presence around her placed her in such grave danger that he left Sunnydale [Buffy's home town], moved to LA, and got his own series [Kinda like Frasier & Cheers]. Currently his main squeeze is a werewolve chick.
