Why Won't They Leave Us in Peace?
"The Redneck Rastafarian" ^ | 5/12/"2004" | "The Redneck Rastafarian" (Zionist Conspirator)

The ancient hatred, the hatred everyone thought was gone forever, is back with a vengeance. And many among `Am Yisra'el are utterly at a loss to explain it. This wasn't supposed to happen. We've had the "enlightenment." The "Age of Reason." The French Revolution. Separation of church and state. Democracy. Brotherhood Week. If I had a Hammer. Tolerance. Pluralism. Multiculturalism. Detente. I'm OK you're OK. All religions are equal. All points of view are equally valid. One god is as good as another (Thomas Jefferson said so!). Holocaust museums. Education. Even a "Hebrew-speaking Portugal" in the Holy Land complete with a Hellenistic, western-style multiparty parliamentary democracy that guarantees "gay rights" and cherishes the quaint, "indigenous" anti-Semites who've been squatting there for the past few centuries.

Wasn't that supposed to solve everything? What went wrong?

This is my own article/essay, inspired by some of the articles I've seen posted on FR recently. This is my own take on the situation.

This is my own work, so it's pretty provocative. Also, it's on Tripod so there's lots of pop-ups and other distractions. Sorry about that.

I'm kind of curious - where did the "Portugal" meme come from? Was that a slogan or something?

One god is as good as another (Thomas Jefferson said so!).

No he didn't! And as an admirer of Jefferson I am offended by this assertion. Yes, I know he wrote: "Whether my neighbor believes in no God or twenty, it neither robs my purse nor breaks my leg". But this statement, in no way, implies a moral relativism.

You're right, it's time to remind ourselves what we are really about. At the heart of the matter lies faith. What we are rediscovering in the West is something the ancients understood very well: what you believe makes all the difference in the world. A man might die because of a law but he will never choose to die for a law. But he will die for his faith.
The images of beheadings are reminding us that we might have to die for our faith. It's a wake-up call. It's a good time to rediscover the real meaning of "the good life".

I agree with most of your post. However, you definitely
lost me with this:

"then perhaps some uneducated but sincere friend of Israel among the Fundamentalist Protestants, who adhere to a false religion"

Whoaa...false religion? I think the opposite.

Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb, but soon coming Judge
will Reign as G-D and King in the end.

I understand where you're coming from, and this is just one of those occasions where we must "agree to disagree" until the Eschaton makes the Truth evident to all.

Thank you for your kind words.

It comes from the writings of Rabbi Me'ir Kahana' (zt"l, Hy"d), who used to lambast "secular Zionists" for thinking that a secular Hebrew-speaking Jewish ethnic state in the ancient Homeland was all that was needed.

It doesn't matter. The whole point of morality is submission to the One True G-d, and any morality--however absolute it may be--that ignores Him is missing the point entirely.

As for Mr. Jefferson, I must confess to not being the number one fan of the Bible-lacerating old Jacobin.

You're right, it IS pretty provocative.
It's also right.
The only part we disagree on is that Christianity is a false religon. we worship the same god, we just believe the Messiah has already come the first time.
But as you say, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

It doesn't matter.....

You Sir, are intellectually dishonest. You refer to Jefferson, out of context, then you admit that you harbor a secret contempt for his religious views. As far as this reader is concerned, your point is lost due to your deceit (or lack of scholarship).

and any morality...that ignores Him is missing the point entirely.

It is you who has missed the point entirely. Whoever "Him" is, "Him" is most certainly truth.

And yes, I have a Jefferson Bible, as well as other Bibles (and I've read them). I don't find Jefferson's comments on Christ to be contradictory to the message of the Gospels.

"Him" is HaShem. There is no such thing as abstract "truth" apart from the G-d Who created all things in Six Days.

And yes, I have a Jefferson Bible, as well as other Bibles (and I've read them). I don't find Jefferson's comments on Christ to be contradictory to the message of the Gospels.

Mr. Jefferson's contempt for the G-d and religion of the ancient Hebrews is unfortunately not as well known as is Jewish political enhusiasm for him because of his "tolerant" views (Mark Twain is another Jewish "hero" who hated ancient Judaism). At any rate, the gospels teach a humanistic philosophy that ridicules Torah Law and implies a "religion of pure ethics" which is what has gotten us all into our current predicament. It is a shame that Fundamentalist Protestants are so accustomed to reading the Gospels through the prism of Paul's theology that they cannot see the skepticism and irreverence that "Chr*st" manifested continually.

Jefferson accepted Chr*st as an ethical teacher only and rejected the miracles. Ehics without G-d is nothing but secular humanism.

All steps must be taken, beginning now, to cleanse the Holy Land of false religions and places of false "worship" in strictest accord with Halakhah, and the way paved for the reinstitution of the Sanhedrion and the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. There is no other solution.

You have all the despicable talents of Karl Marx. Including a penchant for being totalitarian. You either need to get a grip, get a life, or get committed.
