We get cicadas every year. What is a few billion more? I've never been through this myself, but the locals here in the DC area (Brood X "ground-zro") have been telling me that this is nothing like the cicadas you seem every other year. "A plague of Biblical proportions" is the most common description I hear...

What is a few billion more?Ummm. Its a lot more "plague-like" than youre envisioning at the moment. Theyre everwhere, like media bias.

You get a far different variety, in the late summer. This isn't remotely close to that.
Thankfully, its only once every 17 years. Every 220 or so, Brood X and another "Brood" emerge at the same time...with a result approaching 20 Billion released here in Cincy.

"We get cicadas every year. What is a few billion more?" Try to envision 1.5 million of these things per acre, and this 17th year cycle is supposed to be much worse.
