The Beheading of an Innocent
FrontPageMagazine.com ^ | 5/12/04 | Walid Phares
The slaughtering of Nick Berg is one small step for terrorists and a major leap for the Wests encounter with Jihadism. The videotape, posted on the Ansar web site, was one of many horrifying acts perpetrated by the followers of Osama bin Laden. It ended up becoming a shameful benchmark in the Wests liberal media reporting.
Thank goodness they didn't humiliate him. That would have been an atrocity.
So, little ole innocent me...I said, "So, you've had a bad day with your phone calls? Well, don't worry. We're going after your sponsors next. ...This is about CBS trashing Homeschooling but it does list contacts for their sponsors... http://www.net-pilots.com/cbsnewsdarkside/sponsors.html
These may be overloaded- be warned, it is gruesome:
Berg was a Jew. Now we know another reason why CBS doesn't want to show the video.
....didn't get the girl's name who answered but she said their phones are ringing off the wall, because "someone" published their private newroom line on the web...I can't imagine anyone doing that...it amazes me how upset the liberal media gets when they don't have TOTAL control...
Hannity.com has a link to the video:
The media knows they cannot keep the prison "abuse" story alive once this video is shown - its over at that point.

Bookmarked... Thanks for compiling them.
I just can't decide if I want to watch the video, let alone allow my kids to see it. (well, my youngest is 15)
A poster on another thread wrote that it's hard to find the video on the internet now. Is that true?

Appreciate your looking, and comments. It's hard stuff, but if you can, watch, bear witness, and never forget.
Some of those links worked last nite and others have gone dead- I haven't checked just now, but ogrish worked ( be warned, it's a gross site, adults only ) as did the porn one. If that fails, try them all.

While I agree that the slant of the media coverage is deplorable, it seems that we may have lost sight of reality of this situation. Nick Berg was in Iraq of his volition. He chose to remain after he had been warned of the dangers. I regret that this happened to this man. He was, without doubt, a very brave man. It is unfortunate that we are worrying about this single man after he has been killed. Cold hearted as it may be, we need to focus on the fact that we have thoroughly handcuffed our military. That is hundreds of thousands of people that are still alive and can be saved. The sooner we allow our military personnel to operate without the ridiculous rules of engagement that they have been given, the sooner we will see them come home alive. Nick Berg's fate is a true tragedy. However, the bigger tragedy is worrying about how it is effecting our current administration and not our service members. The press needs to focus on the reality of being in that war. How about a nonpartisan view of what our people over there go through on a regular basis. Then perhaps, the American people will worry less about fixing the blame and more about fixing the problem.

I couldn't find the video, but saw the photos here
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1133739/posts I'm so glad I didn't see the actual video...
It didn't change my opinion of the crazy loons over there. There appears to be 3 group of iraqis. Those who want peace, those will obey and follow whatever leader just happens to be there.., and terrorists.
We all agree on what should happen to the terrorists.
The group who will follow any leader, needs severe help.

These 'its' really are insects. The one thing we can be grateful for (if that's a word I can use here), is that they are as stupid as they are barbaric. What better way, without essay, letters, poems or what have you, to contrast the difference between them and us, than with this horrific, horrific brutality. It cannot be fairly called a decapitation, it just can't. It has to be called what it is, and that's butchery.
We need to unleash the Mafia on these folks, post haste! And I'm talking about the real Mafia, those folks who'd amputate an arm of their enemy, and feed it to the pig they've brought along for punctuation. Italians are big on solid grammar skills! Happened in Sicily in 1963, pity the mafia is in deep league w/the drug pushers, many of whom are probably blood-brothers w/Al Qaeda (sp?), etc.
Today there were a couple of encouraging signs, it appears some normal Iraqis, and those who understand the treasure we've given them simply by removing Hussein, have seen the light. A treasure they would have never have been able to capture themselves. We need their help, if we're going to succeed in the long range plan here. Hopefully, those that I'm speaking of will not backslide.
