Of course the Apostate National Council of Churches would want such a thing.

What are they going to say after the UN appointed government in Iraq takes over in July?

This is the same left-wing group that is run by commie-loving liberal ministers.
They take positions consistently against the wishes of the most members of the churches represented in this council.

I think Islam should become the official religion of the UN. /sarcasm

Hey well-meaning morons - the U.N. left. They won't come back until all the bad guys leave. The U.N. is corrupt - they left Saddam in power in exchange for bribe money. How dare you condemn the Iraqis to life under the Baathists again. You mind the souls. Let the free and the brave take care of Iraq.

Why turn it over to the UN? Let's send the National Council of Churches to Iraq. They can block some bullets as far as I'm concerned.

Ahh, isn't that special.

Anyone who wants to hand over more power to the UN in any capacity, is either is woefully ignorant of their true goals, or is a corrupt marxist.
Now i must add a caviat: if anyone believes what i said above, it could very well make one question why Jorge Bush empowers the UN by funding them with our tax dollars, re-joining UNESCO (which is a propagandist UN tool to indoctrinate innocent schoolchildrens minds,) and why he also supports FTAA & LOST whichare both globalist programs which undermine our Constitution, US sovereignty and liberty itself.

Calling the NCC a Church is a real stretch.

Church groups are stupid when they say things like that.

The National Council of Churches (search), which has been highly critical of the war, acknowledged that Christians disagree on the issueAnd the National Council of Churches would know about Christianity because . . . .

A national religious group representing 36 Protestant and Orthodox denominations said Tuesday that U.S. foreign policy is "dangerous" and urged President Bush to turn over authority in Iraq to the United Nations. Thanks for sharing...now, go away.

Isn't this the same "group" that was behind sending Elian back to Cuba? ... flew relatives to the US as an "incentive"? ... headed by a woman liberal?
Could be wrong but don't think so!
