That's not really fair. I caught much of McCain's peformance on Imus, and while the old buzzard disc jockey was babbling as much ignorant antiwar stuff he could think of, McCain was very clearly and forcefully defending first of all the mission, second of all the troops, and third the process for investigating. I thought he did an admirable job. This is an unfair characterization of his interview, imo.

Ah, McVain displays the flip side of moral relativism - namely, the inability to draw key distinctions between levels of moral transgressions. The Gestapo gassed millions and tortured millions more, you idiot, and there is NO comparision to what happened in Iraq.

While the comparisons to the Gestapo or Vietnam remain absurd, to trivialize the sick abuse as just "putting panties on the heads of prisoners" is also a tad extreme. I believe we haven't seen the worse of it. E.g. there are reports of anal torture, which is a far cry from panty hats.
