That's not really fair. I caught much of McCain's peformance on Imus, and while the old buzzard disc jockey was babbling as much ignorant antiwar stuff he could think of, McCain was very clearly and forcefully defending first of all the mission, second of all the troops, and third the process for investigating. I thought he did an admirable job. This is an unfair characterization of his interview, imo.

I heard him pandering to Imus' nonsense. Now we have a dead American, and there will be many more. War! Priorities!

Warning against taking the scandal too lightly, McCain told radio host Don Imus on Tuesday, "If you go down that slippery slope, OK - you decide, OK, well, this torture is OK - then what's the difference between us and the Gestapo?" Ah, McVain displays the flip side of moral relativism - namely, the inability to draw key distinctions between levels of moral transgressions. The Gestapo gassed millions and tortured millions more, you idiot, and there is NO comparision to what happened in Iraq.

(In the Soviet Union, the Admin Moderators ruled.) It's telling that you are coming to McCain's defense for comparing the mistreatment in Iraq to the Gestapo, when you in turn are comparing the moderators here to the KGB. Fools both you be...

Agreed. Go away, McCain. If all the Gestapo ever did was put panties on the heads of its prisoners, there'd be a lot more people alive today, having survived the horror of humiliation.

McCain is such a little runt. He never misses a beat when it comes to displaying his fine sense of moral outrage.
Of course, his moral outrage is always tied to his political carrer, so it's difficult to separate his supposed love of justice from the love he has for himself.

McCain is auditioning for some job post-2004 election.
The question is, is he directing his audition at Bush, Kerry or To Whom It May Concern.

Is there a TV or radio show that McCain has NOT been on?
Is he sure he's getting enough face time and media adoration?!!

I think we should flood the offices of McCain, Kennedy et al with emails and phone calls. They are getting our people killed.
The only way to win against terrorists is to be more brutal than they are. THAT'S THE ONLY THING THEY UNDERSTAND.
Nice guys don't always finish first and the left including McCain are out to destroy this country.

While the comparisons to the Gestapo or Vietnam remain absurd, to trivialize the sick abuse as just "putting panties on the heads of prisoners" is also a tad extreme. I believe we haven't seen the worse of it. E.g. there are reports of anal torture, which is a far cry from panty hats.
