See my post 65. Berg was apparently an anti-war protestor. His business is listed as a supporter of the "Global Day of Action" protest. News reports say that he was arrested in Mosul and talked to by the FBI and then got caught on his way home.

IF, this is correct...I can see the spin on this already. It will be the U.S. State Dept's fault, the FBI's fault...and of course Pres. Bush's fault...because they didn't "protect" him. They knew he was a "protester", and exposed him to great harm...and they got him killed.

Apparently, Nick Berg's brother Michael is the peacenik. Not Nick:

His parents had not wanted him to go. But they say they think he was lured partly by a sense of adventure, partly because he is a "staunch supporter of the government position in Iraq and he wanted to go over there and help."
