The reason of SUV drivers cruising at a high speed is because the drivers sit HIGH above the road. They have a distorted impression of their speed. There is no 'ground effect' as in a low sports car.

And besides that they feel invulnerable.

Helloooo!

The reason 7 were killed in an SUV is that there's no passenger car sold today that will HOLD 7 people!

You want to pin responsibility on someone? Other than the fool driving 90 with a car load of kids?

Try blaming the Congress that passed CAFE, thus sentencing Americans with families to buy trucks to transport them in.

That's why soda can drivers drive too slow, they have a distorted impression of their lack of speed. Besides, they feel self righteous in their feeling of vulnerability.

I drive an SUV, and I don't feel that way. I'm very aware of how differently the car handles at higher speeds and adjust accordingly. And I generally try to avoid clipping cars doing 90 mph. Not to mention making sure everyone is buckled up and not overloading the vehicle.

But that's just me.

You forgot to tell us what they had for breakfast. Since you obviously know everything else about SUV drivers why didn't you throw that in to really emphasize your point.

Hey, I've got an idea! Let's pass a law that all passenger vehicles must be two seaters and must sit low to the ground! How about that for solving your problem!
