Thread of Abuse Runs to the Oval Office
Phony justifications for war led to brutal intelligence-gathering.
Someone's lying big-time and neither Congress nor the media have begun to scratch the surface. Clearly we now know enough to stipulate that the several low-ranking alleged sadists charged in the Iraq torture scandal did not control the wing of the prison in which they openly and proudly did the devil's work.
That power was in the hands of high-ranking U.S. military intelligence officers who established abusive conditions that were condemned by the Red Cross in a complaint to U.S. authorities well before the horrid incidents that recently shocked the nation.

Sir:
Has Robert Scheer ever met an enemy of America he didn't like? One he did not idolize, identify with, consider a hero?
Has Robert Scheer a single molecule of patriotism, honor, integrity, or love of country in his body?
I doubt we have instruments sensitive enough to tell.

This is the type of drivel the LA Times spout out every day. They are in a race awith the NY Times as to who is the most liberal.

"Someone's lying big-time and neither Congress nor the media have begun to scratch the surface." And when the Clintons lied - big time - the liberal newspaper people collectively scratched their asses. So shove off Scheer, ya twit.

The Left suffers from SMO: Selective Moral Outrage.

Yes, these Iraqi prison crimes were taught right in the Oval office. President Clinton and Monica let them know just how to do it. The prison guards could not afford expensive Cuban cigars, so they just used what ever they had at hand. Yes, this all goes right up to the top!

Hey wait, didn't the LA times declare itself through an editorial column just yesterday that it was a bastion of journalistic integrity?

President Clinton taught the people of the USA that having a little sex fun with Monica was more important than his job right there in the Oval Office.

Speaking of Oval Office abuse, I hope Bush had clinton's sink replaced with a new one and saved the old one for display in the Smithsonian one day.

Since I do not read the LA Times I may have missed that. It did not surprise me to read about it on your post.

Yep, it's 'just about sex', 'everybody does it'. No big deal, let's just move on. Gotta do the work of the people. Just consentual sex between adults, whats the big deal?
The great Stainmakers legacy, in a nutshell.

Personally, I'm very pleased the Democrats are making another political "miscalculation".
This is already beginning to backfire on the Dem Party, the Kerry Campaign in particular.
I eagerly await the next round of mumbling from Senator Teddy "Drown Em" Kennedy, Bobby "KKK" Byrd, and of course the trophy husband candidate, John "French" Kerry.
The democrats don't understand this is a losing issue for them as long as THEY keep talking about it. If they had just let the media "carry their water" they might have realized some political gain. But whats happened is they rushed to microphones, demanding Rummy's head on a platter. Thats counter to what 70% of all Americans in poll after poll after poll has shown in the past week.
Toss in Kerry's notable comments that he himself engaged in "atrocities" during his four months in Nam...and you have another crediblity implosion for Kerry.
Works for me.....(grin)

Nonsense.
Of course, to say that Robert Scheer writes nonsense is tautology.
