He's Adam Clayton Powell, Jr.'s son. by his third wife.
Hi, I'm Kim and a Democrat. Oops, did I say a bad word? I just wanted to say that the so-called victim recanted her story the day after and admitted the sex was consentual. Bye the way, they did it twice, the several places in the motel room and she requested he use condom. The only thing that Powell is guilty of is poor judgment and giving this girl(and I use the term loosely) alcohol, which by the way, she drank of her own free will. This girl saw dollar signs and the Powell legacy and decided to cash in on her 15 minutes. Now, when all is said and done-she will go on with her pathetic life and Powell will have to pick up the pieces of his shattered reputation.
Mamas, don't let your daughters grow up to be interns ...
Kim-I think this is all very coincidential, considering just very recently Adam Clayton Powell IV announced that he was running against his father's rival Charles Rangel for Congress. Hmmm, makes one wonder about the timing of this one.
looks like he already did!!!
Kim-Look, any 19 year old young lady who goes to a motel/hotel room with an eligible, influential and handsome man like ACP IV is knowingly going there for hanky-panky. Any red-blooded woman who has a pulse would have went for it. He's divorced and she's legal age, so-this thing is going to go the distance and fade away. It soon will be yesterday news and the sad thing about it, if this was a regular Joe-no one would have as much batted an eyelash.

Now, Kim, since you are as you say, a Democrat, perhaps you can clear this up for me:
1. When a 43-year-old divorced man gets a 19-year-old girl drunk and has sex with her, this is not illegal. OK, fine, but is it wrong? You say Powell is only guilty of "poor judgment." Does your vocabulary include such words as "fornication" and "sin"? Or are Democrats too progressive to talk like that?
2. Suppose that a woman sued Powell for sexual harassment. Suppose that, as part of the discovery process in the lawsuit, the attorneys for the plaintiff sought depositions from other women acquainted with Powell. And then suppose that Powell, fearing that honest testimony by some of these women might be damaging, sought to prevent these women from testifying by dispatching his own lawyer to get them to sign false affidavits in exchange for securing them employment out of town (beyond easy subpoena range)? In such a case as that, wouldn't you agree that Powell had done something wrong? And would you agree that a man who so shamefully abused the legal system would not be suited for an office of trust?
3. If, as you say, there is nothing wrong with a 43-year-old divorced man getting a teenager drunk and screwing her, what was the big deal about Clarence Thomas telling a few tasteless jokes in mixed company at work?
4. Say this for Powell: At least he didn't drive the girl off a bridge and leave her to drown!
