When I was little, I believed in unicorns. Much rarer is the Moderate Muslim. Even if they exist somewhere, they are clearly cowed, silent and ineffectual. In which case, they don't signify.
re: The Sahih Bukhari is accepted by Sunni Muslims, but not Shiites (generally), not that I think it matters much, because, as I said, Mohammed clearly did draw a distinction between war and peace.
The Shia are slightly less deranged than the Sunni, true. The Sunni are most of Islam, however, Egypt and Saudi and Pakistan (this article). If I had to be a woman crushed under the sadistic oppression of Islam, I'd definitely choose Shia Iran as the lesser of two horrible evils. There's one for your side.
re: But, let me rephrase the question: Is it OK for Muslims in the Dar al Islam to lie to infidels?)))
Again, your question does not make a lot of sense. Mohammed said yes--to the Sunnis and little Aisha, at least--so clearly at least the Sunni Muslim has been given dispensation to do so.
My tagline is taken from a later Surah, BTW. Later quotations hold sway--the earlier quotations are used to lull the unwary.
