Granted, I don't want to see prisoners "physically" abused--as in real injuries. I don't like seeing women soldiers hanging out with "necked" prisoners. I don't like the porno poses. I don't like seeing that girl with a cancer stick hanging sideways out of her mouth.

That said, the media's relentless, unfair coverage of this issue is beginning to PISS ME OFF!!! The Democratic leadership's attempt to sacrifice our will to win is enraging me!!!!

Then, I saw this commentary about the unintended affects that this issue is having on our enemies.

As long as our guards didn't let dogs bite the prisoners (as the media has suggested), as long as the guards didn't shove broomsticks up their butts--I am beginning to reach the conclusion that this is much ado about nothing.

I am ALL FOR humiliating this enemy. That is obviously our most potent weapon against them. They use it themselves.

AND, I bet the citizens of Iraq who are sick to death of the insurgents would revel in their humiliation.

I say dress them up in corsets, garter belts and fishnet stockings like Dr. Frankenfurther in Rocky Horror Picture Show and threaten to parade them down the streets of Bagdad if they don't talk.

Its too bad the MPs didn't immediately claim that they were engaging in interactive art and that this was simply their way of expressing their feelings about war. This story would have been dead on arrival.

I know a bunch of Republican streets that not only don't give a hoot in hell about this controversy, in fact it makes them even more eager to keep President Bush and his fine leadership in office.

Not one drop of Islamofascist blood was lost in the "torture."

This manufactured crisis is going to blow right up in the media's face.

Everybody will see through it by election time.

I say take off the hoods, take thier pictures in drag and print up a thousand copies to be spread all over Sand Dune City.

Let the Arab world see thier finest dressed up like L.A. on Saturday night.

Given that these are the same guys who hauled off and jailed children whose parents displeased Sadam, I think this is a very mild punishment.

. . . the media's relentless, unfair coverage of this issue is beginning to PISS ME OFF!!!

Couldn't agree more.

I agree the relentless media coverage is asinine. They don't have any other fat to chew on. It's like they are trying to force an issue, such as Rumsfeld's resignation. Radio's Bill Bennett show talked about it everyday last week (I believe the story broke on Wednesday) and again today. I watched the Dolans on CNN and they talked about it all last week and today. The local newspaper is printing a story a day. I'M FED UP CONSIDERING THAT THE MILITARY WAS ALREADY INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE, 17 MEMBERS OF CONGRESS (BOTH PARTIES) HAD ALREADY BEEN NOTIFIED AND THE RED CROSS KNEW ABOUT LONG BEFORE THE STORY BROKE. AND THE US SHOULD NEVER ISSUE AN APOLOGY TO THESE BARBARIC MURDEROUS SCUM.

The real uproar ought to be over the slow release of this photos while the investigation was underway. In WWII we would not have heard a word about this until the war was over.

The party or parties who released these photos should be in as hot, if not hotter water, as those who carried out the abuse.

The photos have done much damage to our cause and jeopardize every coalition soldier or civilian who may find themselves captured or kidnapped.

PUNISH ALL the GUILTY PARTIES.

LOL! I'll donate a thong for the cause just to have a front row seat to that parade!

The only reason that these photos have become public is because the Army is prosecuting the pranksters, who went public to protect themselves.

Therefore the real message to the "street" is: the U.S. government is your friend, so treat it well; the average soldier would dishonour you if given a chance.

I think this Iraqi prisoner abuse is the most horible thing I've seen all year.

Now if we could only get the media interested in cleaning up college fraternity hazings.

If you're trying to do a psych job on an Arab prisoner, to mentally intimidate him bfore in terrogation, you don't use a 6'5' 350 ripped black guy, you use a 5'1" 100 lb female who looks like a little girl...given the male Arab mindset..that ill shake them up..

BTW, forget the panties and girdles..dress them in BURKAS...

I never said this outloud but I was thinking what a fantastic psy-op these pictures are. I would imagine that many of the militants in Iraq are willing to die for the cause but the thought of being forced to dance around in ladies' underwear while flashbulbs go off would make their blood run cold. Getting blown to bits and reaching the great 72 is one thing. Finding yourself on the wrong end of a leash wearing pair of frilly unmentionables is something else entirely.

So, prisoners were stripped naked, humiliated, abused, beaten, raped and murdered? Why is this a surprise? Why would the world expect the U.S. to run a foreign prison better than our own prisons? Everyone talks about the impression we give the world though our TV shows. Haven't any of them seen Oz?

I am ALL FOR humiliating this enemy.

My recall of ancient history could use a little buffing up. But I do seem to remember reading that when Babylon was the dominant world power, the parading of nude POWs was a standard practice.
