This week on the syndicated Jeopardy quiz show: media figures, including Tim Russert, Tucker Carlson, Bob Woodward, Aaron Brown and Keith Olbermann. Plus, Peggy Noonan and Al Franken.
Monday's Washington Post provided a day-by-day listing of the line-up for the shows hosted by Alex Trebek, which were taped, on a Saturday in early April, at the Daughters of the American Revolution's Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. "Winners," the Post noted, "get $50,000 for a charity of their choice; losers get $20,000, regardless of how poorly they play."
The lineup:
- Monday: Tucker Carlson of CNN's Crossfire, Peggy Noonan, the former presidential speechwriter, and Bob Woodward of The Post.
- Tuesday: Anderson Cooper of CNN's 360 Degrees, Maria Bartiromo from CNBC, and Kweisi Mfume, the President of the NAACP.
- Wednesday: Ari Fleischer, former White House Press Secretary, Ashleigh Banfield, who used to work for NBC, and Aaron Brown of CNN's Newsnight.
- Thursday: Al Franken, the liberal talker, Gretchen Carlson of CBS's Early Show and Keith Olbermann of MSNBC's Countdown.
- Friday: Tavis Smiley of NPR and PBS, Christine Todd Whitman, the former Environmental Protection Agency head, and Tim Russert of NBC's Meet the Press.

For the air time in your area, as they say, check local listings. In many markets, the half-hour Jeopardy airs during the hour before prime time begins. Those in the Washington, DC are can watch Jeopardy at 7:30pm on WJLA-TV.
I hope they all remembered to answer in the form of a question, such as: "Eight liberal media stars who deny there's any liberal bias?" Answer: "Who are the guests this week on Jeopardy?"

"Ari in a landslide against two true lightweights."
Yes! I'm pretty sure he & Russert will do the best. They may actually know a bunch of stuff.
Thanks for posting this thread, I really do want to watch this. Usually I'm not too keen on the Celebrity Jeopardy weeks, but I think this will prove interesting.

I hate to say it, but Keith Olberman is a pretty bright guy too. I'd expect him to do pretty well.

"I read somewhere that Franken made a complete A$$ of himself."
Point #1: "I'll take 'Liberal Lies and the Liberal Liars who tell them' for 2000, Alex"
Point #2: Poetic Justice would be that Franken-stein would be excluded from Final Jeopardy! because he ran out of money...just like his network.

I hate all the "special" Jeopardy weeks.
They dumb the show down so badly.
Media Personality Week will undoubtedly ask questions as lame as High School Week.
"Comes from a mixing of the colors blue and yellow."
"What is purple, Alex?"

"..shows hosted by Alex Trebek"
Can't take this guy or his dumbed down version of Jeopardy.
The guy they used to have on years ago ran a show which asked academic, intelligent questions. He was also respectful of the guests.
Trebek makes sarcastic comments and has some real idiot categories - like about rock stars, words that being with "bird", rhyming stuff - so puerile.
But I MUST check out Chrissie Whitman. Unless they uses cue cards, I'm sure she will wind up the dumbest of the bunch.
I'm sure Noonan will probably do best.

Even though I like Peggy Noonan, I won't watch these people. Why do the news people, columnists, TV celebs etc think they are so important??
Sheesh, On this week when they show the people who died the week before half or all of them are fellow media people, as if they were more important than the other thousands of people who died that week.
They really do think of themselves as elitist.

I usually watch and enjoy Jeopardy, but I may skip this week. Everything will have to be dumbed down so idiots won't look like idiots-whats the challange in that?

Boy was I right about them dumbing down the questions or what?
Seriously, I don't think I've missed one so far, except a couple of the ballet questions.
Did you see how not one of them knew John Elway was the quarterback of the Broncos.
And I'll tell myself that Peggy Noonan didn't know "All the President's Men" on purpose, just to piss off Woodward.

Alright. Even if I'm the only person on this thread I'm going to be the first to get Final Jeopardy right. As soon as the commercials are over.

Remember when Bill Clinton wanted to take "potpourri" (sic?) and said he'd take "pot party for $200"? I thought that was pretty funny....

I'm watching as we speak and Peggie Noonan is whipping Tucker and Woodward, big time.
By the way, Woodward's "charity" is Sidwell Friends School, where his 7 year old attends. I'm sure, they really, really need the money.

Whitman won by a wide margin...and the most money of the week.
The other two - Russert and some idiot Tavis Smiley---were left in the dust. Russert thinks there are 50 senators in the senate!
