Position Statement[of Conservative Democrat(?) vying for Congressman Cass Ballenger's seat - NC 10]
Cole 4 Congress ^ | May 2004 | John Cole

Posted on 05/10/2004 7:36:06 AM PDT by TaxRelief

Dear Neighbors of the 10th District,

Thank you for taking the time to look over my Platform. I believe that the Democratic Party has an economic policy, which serves the greater interests of the Constituency of this District.

On social issues, however, I am conservative and I list some of those conservative social positions immediately below.

I am Pro Life

I support the ban on Partial Birth Abortion

I support the Death Penalty and all due process as provided by law

I am an advocate of School Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance

I support the 10 Commandments.

I support Israel.

I am opposed to same sex relationships/marriage.

I support the right to bare arms and also strongly advocate gun safety.

I am opposed to any form of pornography as I feel that it is detrimental to our society.

Respecting Our 10th District Values,

John F. Cole

I smell something fishy. Could it have something to do with this picture on his website?

Other candidates that have filed:

Republican David Huffman, Newton
Republican Sandy Lyons, Hickory
Republican Patrick McHenry, Cherryville
Democrat Anne Fischer, Morganton

I support the right to bare arms

I'm a big Sheriff Huffman fan -- he's a fun guy after quittin' time!

John's working knowledge of buildings led to research that influenced and led to the creation of Senate Bill 216 – The Building Security Act – which was introduced on January 24, 2003 by Senator John Edwards of North Carolina.

Well that may have had something to do with the picture. From looking at his webpage, I don't see much that he agrees with Edwards on. Well, except NAFTA, but heck I agree with Edwards on that to some degree. It was probably the only Senator from our state that he could find ;)

Of course Senate Bill 216 from his website I guess makes sense but I'm no engineer. Could be a load of fluff for all we know.

I support the right to bare (sic) arms and also strongly advocate gun safety.

Hmmm.

I wonder whether this is a spelling error or a Clintonian subliminal.

Does this mean he supports the right to wear short-sleeved shirts and is for "gun safety", Million-Mom-March style? Or does he support the Second Amendment?

One can't neccessarily tell, because of the "slip".

"I support the right to bare arms"

Thank you for supporting my Constitutional right to wear short sleeve shirts...

But the important question is:
Who would you vote for for House Majority Leader?
Richard "Little Dick" Gephardt?

Bush won the NC-10 with 65% of the vote in 2000. It is unlikely that a RAT, no matter how conservative he/she claims to be will win. I wonder if this guy will take the same positions if he lived in Chapel Hill?
