"I just don't believe that all 17 would ignore this. Now we hear that they got form letters. Yesterday it was 'no response.' "Sadly, it's possible that you're right.

Okay, that's pretty funny too.

The 17 were supposedly notified (by constitutents serving in Iraq) of the prisoner abuse long before the pictures surfaced.
Oh. Did one report I read say the father of the guy who spilled the beans also tried to interest Bill O'Reilly?

Maybe we can get Mindbender to comment on Hack's great war ventures in Nam.
Mindbender has some great personal insights to Hack's great war record in Nam.

This should prove interesting if any of the 17 Senators are on the Armed Services Comm.

I've never heard 'revulsed' or 'revulsing' used in these contexts. Have you been listening to some old Norm Crosby LPs?

McCain was surprisingly on the 17 LEAST liberal senators on the link I showed above. I took him out precisely because he's Kerry's lapdog, Hackworth's not gonna incriminate him. In any case, I predict that it'll be all Republicans (with maybe one token Democrat--Lieberman) and they'll all be extremely conservatives (we won't see Collins, Snowe, McCain, etc. on that list)

Yep, I heard the whole thing live, too. I had to read the transcript to get the exact quote for my notes.
I don't know if Bubba wants Hillary! to be president or not. On the one hand, the "well, NOW we know who was running the White House for 8 years" rumors will begin, but on the other, he'd have a chance to be in the limelight. Then again, Bubba has become the kiss of political death anymore.

"What impact would this have except to further politicize the problem?"If you'd listened to the hearing last Friday, heard a bunch of senators insisting this was all Rummy's coverup and demanding to know why he didn't inform them that there were pictures, you wouldn't need to ask that question.

Those Senators did nothing, so Hackworth broke the story to the Press.Well imagine that. Going through the correct channels got nothing done. Simply shocking. What's worse is I see other news organizations are releasing some of these photos as well. We've got to stamp out this free access to information. The media shouldn't be informing just regular citizens about this. Wait a minute....isn't there an Amendment against that?
I just don't believe that all 17 would ignore this
Whereas I believe most of our representatives, of either stripe, could care less about the citizens of the respective states. What if it is all Republican Senators? Does that somehow make them less culpable for their inaction? Although I would imagine it's some from both sides of the aisle
