My apologies in advance on this story; I just happened to catch this on several different newscasts a few minutes ago, and I am going by memory as best I can. Unicoi County (Tennessee) sheriffs arrested two Israeli men after a high-speed chase down mountain roads in this east Tennessee locale. While the sheriff was in pursuit, local witnesses noticed that materials were being thrown from the truck as it sped by, well over the posted speed limits. These witnesses were able to locate some of these items; one of which included a jug whose contents became "unusually hot" after the ingredients inside were shaken together. (Goes into the "Hey, y'all...watch this" category, WKWE.) Upon arrest, the police noted that the cab of the truck contained a "Learn How to Fly" brochure, along with passports and Florida licenses that "just didn't seem to add up". The Israelis claimed they were "just in the process of moving some furniture up to Boston". The police also stated that these two Israelis are "not being cooperative in any way." The FBI is investigating the nature of the substance in the jug that was recovered, which has been classified as an "inflammable fuel."
My questions:
1. What ELSE was in this (big yellow) 25-foot Ryder truck?
2. If they were travelling from Florida to Boston, what were they doing on a two-lane back road in the mountains of east Tennessee, several hundred miles WEST of Interstate 95; the most direct route from Florida to Boston?
3. What is the volatile substance in the jug, and why did they wish to avoid getting caught with it? (Why else would they pitch it?)
4. Why are they interested in "Learning How to Fly?"
5. Were they REALLY going to Boston, or were they MORE interested in the nearby Nuclear Fuel Services plant, or, G-d forbid, the huge Eastman Chemical Plant, about thirty miles further up the road?
It will be interesting to see if the national media picks up on this.

The driver, 23-year old Samuel Dahan and passenger 19-year old Almaliach Noar claim they were delivering furniture and were headed to Boston, Massachusetts. Whatever they may have been up to, they seem a bit young to be trusted as spies.

The truck was rented in Mars Hill. If they were coming from Mars Hill, could they have been on old 23 to begin with?
If they were leaving from Mars Hill, it would have been logical to drive up I-26 (U.S. 23, if they had an old map) to take I-81 to I-84 to I-90. If they were leaving from Florida, they might have gotten sick of driving on traffic-clogged I-95 and taken the I-81 back route. I-26 does back track a ways, but it provides the first direct opportunity to get to I-81. A lot of people who drive from New York to the south that prefer to take I-81 to avoid traffic and tolls. They'd logically swing over to I-77 in Columbia, though.
Taking the cops on a high speed chase and throwing a mysterious vial out of the window certainly is mysterious. Not cooperating with the police is also suspicious. If I were the TN authorities, I'd try to keep them as long as I could without bond too under the circumstances --- at least until the tests come back on the samples. I'm just keeping an open mind about it.

It does not surprise me at all that Tennessee police called them "Israelis" to the media. When's their next KKK meeting, BTW? You are a moron.

Amen to that. When I was living in N. Texas in the late 80's, my county alone produced something like 65 percent of the nations meth. A lot of others are making it now, but the people there are even more strung out than they were before. North Georgia's getting bad as well.

like the stories concerning the more than 300 Israeli Jews who were arrested nationwide following 9/11. Hey troll, the leftist attempt to blame 9/11 has been discredited so many times it has become comical.
Note that he did not claim that the 300 Israelis were in any way involved in 9/11. It does indeed appear that there were a large number of young Israelis posing as art students in the US around this time, who were carrying out some sort of intelligence work. Strangely, they seemed to focus on the DEA. Read the report: "Suspicious Activities Involving Israeli Art Students at DEA Facilities" which is posted on many sites. Despite the fact that some of these sites have a leftist bent, this appears to be a legitimate DEA report.

Maybe they used clever names like Achmed Cohen...

"You are a moron."
From the looks of some of your comments behind your "forum" link, it's obvious that you like to call people at this site names like "moron," "coward" and "bastard" a lot from your keyboard.
You've helped to make a point, but it wasn't the one you were seeking to make.

"BTW, what would you have said if they were Iranians?"
Although a lot of Iranians are good assets of ours, other Iranians would be terrorists. Our Iranian assets know this, given the situation in Iran.
I wouldn't have said anything negative and would have taken a "wait and see" attitude.
But when I see news published about "Israelis" suspected of being terrorists in the USA (or even insinuations of it), it reminds me of some of the neo-Nazi propaganda that was disseminated after the September 11 attacks--propaganda that described mythical suspects exactly as "Israelis" with the intention of readers believing they were talking about "Jews."

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fire at the national lab in Oak Ridge the other day? That was a suspicious fire when they reported it, saying it was sodium hydroxide burning. Caustic soda is another name for it and it doesn't burn.

Very true - most folks naturally think 'Israelis' is a synonym for 'Jewish people,' while in fact there are large numbers of Arab Israelis.
Wait for more info,

"The five Israeli guys that had been caught dancing and supposedly exchanging high fives while filming the collapsing twin towers was carried a little longer" Interesting. I remember them being Arab or Persian.
They were Israeli, and were interviewed in the Israeli media on their return. This is an article giving details on the case.
