Chris Wallace Leaves me in Tears
4-9-04 | patriciaruth

Chris Wallace advertised his Sunday news show as a time to put the names of our fallen soldiers in context.

Ted Koppel had simply read the names of the soldiers who have sacrificed all, the last full measure of devotion, for us to live in peace and for the Iraqis to have a unique and blessed chance to find peace and security and democracy. So, Chris Wallace decided to have a show to put those sacrifices in context, and talk about all the good things that the American soldiers had done in Iraq.

So, I tuned in, and I am still sobbing and shaking with anger remembering how he started the show with over fifteen minutes of a rehash of the last 10 days feeding frenzy over the terrible abuses a few soldiers had perpetrated on some Iraqi prisoners.

CONTEXT?!?!

THIS is the context you want me to remember our war dead!!

You garbage, you thoughtless garbage!

I was too upset to watch the "tribute" which came after the filthy trash.

I'll never watch that cruel, demented show ever again.

He spent the first twenty minutes on the prisoner abuse story, rehashing whether Rummy should resign, etc. etc. ad nauseam.

The great "corrective" to ted koppel he had been promoting for over a week was ten minutes of nice stuff but to me a pale and weak effort.

Also I agree that if he was "astonished" to discover, at this late date, that we have rehabbed a bunch of schools and got their oil pumping again, then he is truly an ignorant and incompetent newsman.

Frankly, I thought it was so feeble a gesture, that perhaps he ran into stiff resistance inside Fox, and had to tolerate severe editing by anti-Bush higher-ups. If not, and this was all they had put together over the last nine days, then it was a sham and a disgrace.

he used to be on ABC. Shame on you all who attacked him

I didn't see the show, so I can't comment on that....but speaking of Chris Wallace being on ABC, does anyone else remember the idiot getting jerked home from Israel during the first Gulf war for, in effect, being a damned artillery spotter for Iraqi Scud shooters?

He sat uptop of some hotel, reporting his location, and pointed out just where the rockets were landing. I guess he thought he was being a "journalist"...

That explains things. I've seen this tilt to the left at Fox. And I said I bet they've hired liberal news writers. How about a Conservative News Network?

Well, I can guarantee that if the only feedback they get is outrage at the length, and no positive about the content, there won't be any more (which seems counter-productive).

I'm not attacking him.
BUT where is FOX's attack on Hanoi Kerry?

Don't forget, this election is up to the people, not the media, try as they might. Right now 69% of Americans support Rumsfeld.

I'm sure Wallace didn't actually put the tribute together, it just happened to get a slot on his show.

That being said, I believe if we want to see more of that type of TV, we need to let FOX know (I know I do).

That's the point.
The ultra liberal news media is everywhere, we don't need it from Fox.

I have trimmed my FNC watching to a bare minimum since Geraldo, "The Fake", was added to the line-up. Then to add insult to injury, they added the three sorriest people to their weekend morning line-up.

I get my news, here on FR.

The people bashing him on this thread are smoking crack

I don't smoke crack. And if you don't apologize immediately for that libelous statement, I will hit the abuse button.

"Apparently, they would rather return to the good old days when CNN and the network news ruled the roost."

Too bad you can't see that FOX is no better than CNN, ABC, NBC and CBS
How come NONE of them carried the Press Conference by Hanoi Kerry's commanders in Viet Nam?
Because they don't want America knowing the truth!

And now Fox has major RAT Durbin on with his hand-wringing spin that things are terrible in Iraq.

FoxNews has become a Major Disappointment and I watch less all the time! Plus, my remote control is always within easy reach just as now, when I happily made Durbin STFU, in my living room anyway. Too bad about Fox.

Right this minute they're giving Richard Durbin (D-IL) a forum with no opposition.

I must add, though, that the best news hour on TV is Brit Hume's nightly weekday report.
