Californians don't have gun rights.
I was supposed to 're-register' my anti-tyranny weapons with the tyranists [is that a word?]...
We can't even have potato guns or model rockets...

There are also efforts not affiliated with the NRA to modify the state Constitution to include an explicit right to keep and bear arms.
See the "Unofficial California RKBA Petition Web Site " to find information for participating. Follow "My Recommendations" to distribute petitions and pay close attention to the "Instructions for Gathering Signatures".
If you wish to become a county volunteer, send contact information to "rkba@sonic.net". This information will be added to the web site so that others in your county can contact you.
The long term goal is to continue running petition drives until we are successful. For this reason we need to organize county-level groups in virtually every county.
When the day arrives that we are gathering signatures on the first of the 150 days allowed for such gathering in every county, there is no way that we will fail to gather enough signatures.
The website "caproprkba.org" has not been updated recently, but it does contain a discussion of the merits of the Initiative Constitutional Amendment being proposed.

Do I care? Nope; frankly I don't give a hoot. California can have itself.

Fine. At least your language is carefully chosen, if not your lack-of-focus. But excuse us if some try to fight the good fight, ok? After all, nobody is threatening your right to wear your hat backwards and guzzle brewskis on Sunday in front of the boob tube, are they? Nobody is asking YOU to lift a finger, are they?
I've heard it said that 4-and-a-half-million NRA members carry 100 million gun owners on their backs. When asked, nearly 80 million gun-owners say they are members of NRA or that NRA represents their views.
I think we just found a heavy one.

Hehehe... Actually I have been guzzling brewskis in front of the boobtube today...
I see California as a lost cause. I reckon if I lived there I'd have different opinions, but I don't-- in fact, I turned down employment in CA just so I wouldn't have to live there.
I guess it must be wrong of me, but I just can't seem to get excited about anything in CA anymore. More power to ya.

Speaking of model rockets..
Model Rocket Fuel is now under the aegis of the BATFE..
Identification, fingerprinting, (probably licensing) is now required to purchase it..
I'll see if I can find an article on it somewhere.

I own several guns in California. They are legal, registered, and so far, so good. Give it some time and you will be paying a tax to own firearms. New York citizens already have to pay a tax to own handguns.
I put an X on California after seeing it go to the socialists. I grew up in the state and saw where it went so I left. Hope it doesn't end up like I have stated, but I see no changes for good coming to California in the future. It seems they won't even do anything to support traditional marriage.

Does the NRA care about gun rights in California?
To: nickcarraway
California is the only state with a full-time NRA lobbyist and a staff in the capitol.
