I even know people who voted for Ross.
I hate that cartoon they do now. It is really gross. I heard they were going to pull it.
The KISS was gross they didn't need it, but I thought the way they made fun of Friends tonight was pricless.

Laughed my a$$ off. Especially the nuzzling at the LIVE FROM NEW YORK part...

I can't stomach SNL anymore. I just don't find Saturday Night Liberals funny.

Don't you think that Snoop Dog is offensive to black people? He keeps referring to women as "ho's." Just thinking how demeaning it is even though it's meant to be funny.

There's two ways to look at this:
1) This was a creative satire of the final "Friends" episode that, at the end, degenerated into a revulsive homosexual make-out session between Bush and Rumsfeld. Or
2) By having a homosexual make-out session between Bush and Rumsfeld played for laughs, isn't SNL poking fun at sodomites by portraying a homosexual kiss as a joke?

*Rummy* almost started laughing at the end. I love it when they lose it.
I miss Phil Hartman he would have done a better Rummy.

OR
3. They were making fun people who think it was weird that W stuck by Rummy and used the flop of Friends as well.
Yes the kiss was gross, but I was more shocked that they actually kissed.
It is a show that smacks down EVERYONE and I don't think *homosexuality* was the theme or point at all.

Gotta agree with ya on the Hartman thing. I still think one of mt favorite Hartman skits was Frankenstein, Tonto, and Tarzan singing Christmas Carols, although it probably offended some of the people on this thread that apparently lost their sense of humor on the 70s...

Nope, that stuff is what people mean when they say "shoving it down our throats"... there's that one idiot whose shtick is overly dramatic and contextually inappropriate kisses with other men, and he does it at every opportunity. Of all the comedians with shticks to choose from, why do they pick the guy who does that one?

There is humor, and then there is over-the-top crudity. Although I didn't see it (thank goodness) SNL could have just as easily pulled off their Rummy-W gay joke by having them hold hands. But instead they had to go for the gross out and disgust factor. There are more than a few here in the US that don't find gay sex very funny, especially considering how much it appears to have played apart in the Iraq scandal that could do serious damage to our military and the war on terror.
Yeah, the moral relativists will call those persons prudes, but given how a lack of moral standards and self-discipline is at the heart of this S&M, rape, torture fiasco, perhaps the libertines would be wise to actually take a moment and consider how a lack of decency, shock culture, and a default 'push the envelope' response can lead to serious negative consequences.

I thought the Friends parody was funny.
I love Hammond's Rummy, and love it more when he cracks up.
Later, Hammond was Bill Clinton, political correspondent on the SNL news segment. Don't know if you caught it, but he briefly started out with the Rumsfeld face, but quickly changed it to Clinton's. There was allusion to Clinton's disgusting personal behavior being comparable to Iraqi prisoner photos.

SNL was not on in the early 70s. I debuted in 75.

I mention the homosexual aspect because, if you're a regular watcher of the show, they have been using the "2 guys kissing is funny" bit a lot more often in the past few years. They're usually on the pro-liberal end of things, so to make this be a point of humor is somewhat surprising.

Well the whole week they have been calling Bush and Rummy evil in the press and now they make fun of them by referring to them both as gay!
I guess I would think the gays would be offended after the joke is over and they realize it was on THEM!

For years only the first 5 minutes have had even the possibility of being decent anymore.

To me, that's the early '70s.
So, you debuted in 1975? Did you wear a white dress? ;-D

Blue. Most people would say 75 was the middle 70s, but if you missed a few years you'd be right.

I'd argue they actually use the two guy kissing routine as a comic "gross out" factor. It usually provoke a loud Eeeuuwww....
