In today's testimony before the Armed Services Committee Hillary Clinton may have revealed the source of the leak of the report. Please have a look at the relevant snippets of the transcript from today.
I guess my theory is this: If she isn't behind the leak, she knows exactly who is.

***It also sounds as if that dingbat didn't get her ducks in a row on this one--she has been inelegant and revealing in the past, but not this freaked out after a misstep such as this.***
If the "smartassed woman in the world" keeps working in her underhanded way to harm President Bush, she is going to revealed as an enemy of the people.

My gut feeling? There was a Hillary/Dem mole in CACI orchestrating this thing.
According to Curt Weldon at Rummy's House hearing, a Sgt. with the 372nd yesterday told him that MI, CIA and contractors from CACI were heavily involved in that prison operation.
If there was a traitor/saboteur involved in this, I'd find out who the private sector guys were that had extraordinary access, latitude and influence in that prison.

During house testimony, I was listening to a representative from PA who wanted to ask Rummy a question, and he stated something - paraphrased - ....
"A Reservist Platoon Commander who was assigned to the prison and had first hand knowledge of these events was transferred prior to the investigations taking place. He is now on the congressional staff of a committee member and I would like to see him punished."
Does anybody know (or care to guess) on whose congressional staff this reservist platoon commander (2nd or 1st Lt most likely) is a member? Is he in any way connected to the public release of the photos?
I dunno about Hackworth.... sounds like a certain "Congressional Staffer" is going to need to pony up.

Good points, but I keep finding myself reverting back to the actual evidence so far. Every picture I have seen so far does not represent an atrocity or a form of physical torture. All I see is humiliation and a small degree of abuse. After all, we are dealing with POW's who were captured on the battlefield, not some drunk or jay walker who was arrested for a minor offense. We are talking about trained killers who have no regard for innocent life or even his own. What kind of treatment should we afford these kind of barbarians?

Here's Rep. Weldon's full actual quote from the House transcript:
"I would also ask you to look into a platoon leader that evidently was aware of these actions and a commander who has been transferred, but I understand not yet reprimanded or had charges brought, who is a staff member to a sitting member of Congress, to see whether or not there was any special treatment granted."
I don't know who this platoon leader, but you may be on to something.

Thanks for the actual quote! I must learn to cite the transcripts.
I am starting to think the leaker is "known" and "Hillary" knows her.

NUTCRACKERBOY WROTE: "What if the most damning of the videos and pictures were essentially staged? They were taken to be shown to evildoers as a psychological inducement to submit to the coalition. In other words, Mohammed2 sees pictures of Mohammed1 being led on a leash by a pretty young American woman, he feels such shame that he spills the beans on who is organizing the IED attacks."
I thought the same thing as your first statement.
However, instead of it being staged by the military heads, I was thinking the "girl" in the photos (and friends) might be anti-Bush and was in cahoots with Michael Moore to create photos/videos of alleged atrocities to try to destroy Bush's chances for reelection. Although we haven't seen the worst of the photos/videos yet, even the Iraquis could have willingly staged it WITH her.

I don't know why he kept them on,other than the fact that he had far less time to prepare to take over, due to the algore/election mess. Plus, didn't that POS Levin also do his part by holding up confirmation on many of Bush's cabinet members? God, I hate them so!
To: abner
Mission is only accomplished if the media picks up on this. So far, they have been absent. We are the media. It certainly isn't the papers and the networks anymore.
Evidence of this fact? Rumsfeld is at 66% approval.

Here is my best guess. Someone emailed or mailed a note or plea to Hillary to investigate the abuse that was happening. They contacted her a long while ago, while this was occuring.
Investigators checking who had the photos and where they were emailed to find Clinton as a recipient, right after photos were taken.
Either she ignored it or her staff ignored it. She had the knowledge of abuse long before the administration and military higher ups had been clued in.
She failed act or her staff failed to bring this to her attention or the publics attention.
She is ultimately responsible for her staff. She should step down from the senate because she knew and failed to act.
Just my two cents.

My guess is that someone is investigating now. I hope so. I took advantage of the link someone posted to the DoD that lets you e-mail them. After expressing support for Rumsfeld, I did ask whether the leak was being investigated. (I hear the Bush administration really hates leaks; I too think someone is on it!)

You found this one FAST. Way to go! I was counting sheep when this was posted and you pinged. I also vividly rememeber him saying "You say the report was well known. I don't know how you know that."
My ears perked up right away, and the 'very interesting' popped into my head.
Rumsfeld is one sharp cookie, and I urge EVERYBODY to send him a note of encouragement to STAY with the team.
If anyone needs the contact for him, let me know.
Here is the text of the email I sent to the contact at the Defense Department I have, with copies to President Bush and VP Dick Cheney:
____________________________________
Subject: I Support Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld !
My Dear Sir:
In light of the developments in the news here lately and SOD Donald Rumsfeld's testimony on Capitol Hill today, I felt compelled to send this note to you. It is my hope that you will convey my note of support to him.
When President Bush was elected in 2000 (I voted for him, by the way), I was ELATED to hear later that Donald Rumsfeld was picked as Secretary of Defense. I recalled him from his prior service and felt CONFIDENT that we had the right man at the top of the Defense Department.
I encourage Secretary Rumsfeld to STAY THE COURSE and to keep up the great job he is doing.
I am not one to usually take an activist stance except in times that I feel STRONGLY about an issue. This is one of those times.
I EMPLORE Mr. Rumsfeld to hang in there. We NEED strong leadership like his at such an important position. I would be very disappointed to lose such a great leader, great human at this time in history!
I want to make this short, but one LAST thing. I am a member of FreeRepublic.com and wanted to pass along a link to an article of SUPPORT for Donald Rumsfeld that was posted today to show that there are MANY on my #1 newslink that feel the same way. The link is at the BOTTOM of this email.
Sincerely,
[MeekOneGOP]

I took this from another thread. It's out of the NY Times, dated 5/7/04.
One of the reservists, Ivan Frederick was involved in the incidents in question. his father contacted his brother-in-law, William Lawson, who contacted HACKWORTH (yes, that one).
As part of their efforts to bring the story of abuse to light, the article says," Mr. Lawson said he sent letters to 17 members of Congress about the case earlier this year with no response."
