"But they're in every room. They're not aggressive. They just keep moving things and they follow us about and lay on my shoulders. They seem like they're playful but they're quite annoying." Sounds like they're being haunted by very socialized (and very departed) pet rats. This is what mine do all day...only mine aren't annoying. : )

. I don't think I have ever heard of ghosts looking like that. From what I've read, this is fairly common. These "orbs" have been mentioned throughout history. Orbs can be photographed in grave yards and in Cival War battlefields at night. Flash units are generally used.
Look around on the internet for "graveyard orbs", and you will have some interesting reading.

Wellllll....it doesn't necessarily mean it was a GHOST. I mean, who knows what they were originally trying to film in the bedroom that got them so scared...

They're orbs. Take a few rolls of film at a cemetery sometime. Bring a digital camera and do both. I have a friend that took some in Philadelphia that show balls of light everywhere. What's really weird is when they show up flying around on video, when you didn't see them at the time. I've got a digital and a film picture from my old apartment where we had issues that shows them in my living room and bedroom.

There have been some good ghost stories of their personal experiences in the previous (3) threads told by freepers (including me). Instead of telling them over for the new comers maybe links back to the stories. I wish I knew how to make a link to a previous post. I'd be happy to do it if I could.

The homeowners want to get included in a ghost tour, I'd bet.

They have been living there for 15 years and first noticed that something spooky was going on when they left a camera running in a bedroom. Bingo, I think we can hazard a guess as to what the Johnson's were up to when they originally discovered these "apparitions". Their motivation behind publicly revealing this ghost story is likely related to these exhibitionist tendencies.

"But they're in every room. They're not aggressive. They just keep moving things and they follow us about and lay on my shoulders. Check with your eye doctor. Sounds like 'retinal tears' to me. They while cause flashes and 'moving' things at the edge of vision.

I have photographed orbs in churches, large meeting halls, hospitals, in various outdoor areas.. I mentioned before about an ORB THREAD.. maybe I will post one in next week or so. VERY covered up.
CurlyBill.. thanks for post! a couple a week are great. I would much rather hear about hauntings as a break from all the garbage going on now!

It's easy to make a link to an earlier thread.
First, you have to find the thread.
Then you go to the "address bar" at the top and copy the address, for example, the address for this thread is: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1131655/posts
Then you make a hyperlink, like this:
Hyperlink to this page
The html will look like this:
<a href="http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1131655/posts">Hyperlink</a>
Now copy my HTML above, and just replace the forum address with the forum you want to link to and post it. Put the text you want to show in where I have the blue "hyperlink".

I was going to suggest they either have children or cats, based on their description. Your pet rat analysis works, as well. LOL!

I have photographed orbsYea... me too. I think they're just dust particles creating a form of lens-flare. For anyone to say with certainty that they are anything different without a myriad of techno gadget proof is blowing smoke.
I have known very rational people who have witnessed actual 'hauntings'... and have seen UFO's. But that doesn't mean that they saw ghosts or flying saucers.
These people just saw or heard something they couldn't explain. One time I was fishing a remote pond at 6:00AM. I heard a noise that reminded me of a blow-torch or blast furnace moving towards me from behind a nearby hill. First thing that popped in my mind was... DRAGON! Yea, dragon.
My 'dragon' turned out to be a hot-air balloon!

I don't have any orbs on pics I've taken with my current digital camera- except pics from my friend's wedding last year. They had the wedding at an old mansion and I have pictures of her before the wedding sitting in a (daylight) basement room and there are three orbs in one pic, five in the next.
To: conservative cat
I will do my best to get a thread up on orbs early next week. Are you on Curly Bill's ping list? might contact him if not. I hope you will share your pix / story.

It is hard to not be skeptical in a science/facts only mam, world. I have become more open to many things as I have gotten ...ah, er (older) more mature.. whatever!!!!
Will have that orb thread up & hope you will restate your thoughts.. need to get lots on table to check
