The dateline names the city, not the state. This story is filed from Washington DC.

I know...my jaw dropped when I found out tonight on another thread it was a plastic grocery bag. Isn't that amazing?

As someone else said a few posts back...right away I wondered what store name was on the bag, and I also will guess it is an American store.

I didn't KNOW that Nelson was also a Muslim convert! Did you see the article where that client of Nelson's is alleging that the military stole $119,000 from his HOTEL ROOM when he was arrested. And the nasty military hasn't returned it of course. Anyway the client hasn't been allowed back in the US and is in Egypt it said.

Plastic grocery bag? A lot of department and electronics stores have plastic bags with built-in handles that are a lot sturdier than grocery bags. They also have the name of the store right on them (and sometimes receipts are left behind in them.) The FBI took crredit cards from his home -- they may soon find a record of a purchase that corresponds with the bag.
Such a bag might get through customs.....

Yes, it's a hotbed of Mulim activity in that area. And you are correct about the DC sniper tie

That's right--the one article that said the wife said they took her credit cards did strike me as an interesting factoid...

He's in EGYPT? That client Nelson is representing? Well, I'll be.

Yes, this morning there was an article on Nelson and I think it was he who identified himself as a convert. I'll post it if I find it.

Yup, and this guy Mayfield was the lawyer for one of the Islamic fundamentalists on a divorce case.

Extradite him to Spain.

Mayfield was the lawyer in a custody case. He wanted the child taken away from his non-muslim mom to be raised by an uncle who had converted to Islam while his daddy is serving time in prison. He lost the case.

Found the reference to Nelson:

Madrid case leads to lawyer in Oregon

Excerpt:

Nelson described Mayfield as a "very" moderate Muslim, like himself, who worships occasionally at the Bilal Mosque in Beaverton. He said Mayfield is not devout.

~snip~

Then there is a song and dance distancing himself from how well he knew Mayfield before he got the call Thursday. Weird, after Nelson's first comments were how he was Mayfield's "friend and mentor".

If he's guilty, send him to Spain on the following conditions.

"Do what you want with him. We didn't see a thing".

Thanks for the detail. Father almost always gets the kids in Sharia court. Glad we haven't got to that point yet.
