Aides: Rumsfeld to Apologize to Congress"
By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent

WASHINGTON - Amid calls for his resignation, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld drafted an apology Friday for not keeping Congress informed about abuses of Iraqi prisoners in U.S. custody, defense officials said.

FReepers, since apologizing seems to be the order of the day, let's show 'em how we "apologize!" Let me begin with my own profuse apologies to the entire nation:

I'm sorry we ever had a president who's version of the truth was to say, "It depends on what the meaning of the word IS, is."

As a Californian, I sorry for this pathetic bunch of Dems in my state's congressional delegation: Baca; Becerra; Berman; Boxer; Capps; Cardoza; Davis; Dooley; Eshoo; Farr; Feinstein; Filner; Harman; Honda; Lantos; Lee; Lofgren; Matsui; Millender-McDonald; Miller, George; Napolitano; Pelosi; Roybal-Allard; Sanchez, Linda; Sanchez, Loretta; Schiff; Sherman; Solis; Stark; Tauscher; Thompson; Waters; Watson; Waxman; Woolsey.

I'm so sorry people like Barbara Streisand, Michael Moore, Jane Fonda and any other members of the Hollyweird limousine-liberal crowd breath air.

I'm deeply sorry that the voters of Massachusettes keep sending Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy to the U.S. Senate.

I am sorry I chose this thread to vent on.

There you go (although we all need to do a little venting now and again). :-)

I'm sorry that - to date - Ann Coulter has not yet announced she's going to run against H. Clintoon whenever H. decides to make a run for it.

Hillary! should bear in mind the fate of that other junior Senator from NY who made a run for the presidency.

I'm sorry that Kerry still has 42% in the polls.

I'm sorry anyone pays any attention to polls, because there is no objective way to prove their accuracy.

And I am sorry that I am sorry, since sorry seems to be the hardest word.

I share you sorrow that "sorry seems to be the hardest word."

I am also sorry that most democrats are not up to the moral highground of most republicans, sorry that the republicans keep getting their *ss kicked because of it, and sorry that the liberal media have apparently forgotten the definition of journalism, preferring to function, in the main, as propaganda for the left.

I am also sorry for being so irritable but I neglected to pick up after the dog poop this morning and later stepped in it; however, the poop was on my own property and is not the business of anyone else's except my own.

Thank you.

As an Ohioan, I'd like to offer a very ashamed public apology for Dennis Kucinich, Marcy Kaptur, Jerry Springer and Larry the Flynt.

It's about time you apologized for that. [wink]

I'm sorry Republican politicians won't call a liar a liar and a traitor a traitor.

I am also sorry for being so irritable

It's Friday -- sometimes that last day is the toughest one!

But I like the cut of your jib!

Here in California, if we had to apologize for all the nimrods we produce ... well, let's just say we'd be here for a long time.
