Thanks for the fax #; Here's what I sent to Lieberman:

Dear Senator,

As a staunch patriot and committed supporter of our current Administration and of all that is still good in this nation under God, I must applaud your courageous comments today in the Rumsfeld hearings. I must admit I am surprised and even skeptical of your motives, but very impressed that you put the War on Terror into proper perspective with your comments about 9/11 and the lack of apologies from our enemies, etc. Prisoner abuse is un-American and should never be tolerated, but neither should this issue be blown out of perspective (which it has – to the detriment of our military safety). If we make a mistake we must acknowledge it, correct it, and move forward, not back down. America must maintain strength, not weakness, towards our enemies.

You acted today in stark contrast to the rest of your party, which seems intent upon abusing this (and every) tragedy as an opportunity for political attack and selfish attempt to (re)gain political power at the jeopardy of American life and national security.

I’ll be watching, Senator, to see if your future actions are consistent with those I was so very encouraged by today.

Sincerely,
