Female Soldier Charged in Iraqi Abuse Case
Associated Press
FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Army Pfc. Lynndie England, shown in photographs smiling and pointing at naked Iraqi prisoners, was charged Friday by the military with assaulting the detainees and conspiring to mistreat them.
England, 21, faces four allegations, according to a statement from the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg.
She is accused of "assaulting Iraqi detainees on multiple occasions;" conspiring with another soldier, Spc. Charles Graner, to mistreat the prisoners; committing an indecent act; and committing acts "that were prejudicial to good order and discipline and were of nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces through her mistreatment of Iraqi detainees."
The charges must be taken up in Article 32 investigation, a process similar to a civilian grand jury, before they can be sent to a general court-martial.
No lawyer has been appointed yet to represent England, according to Col. Billy Buckner, a spokesman for the division. She may also hire a civilian lawyer, he said.
England was reassigned to a military police unit at Fort Bragg when she returned from Iraq and will continue her duties, the Corps statement said. Her family said Friday that she is four months pregnant with Graner's child.
Both were members of the 372nd Military Police Company, based in Cumberland, Md.

Amen, you nailed it. This whole exercise is maddening, demoralizing and just tragic.
Why is America doing this to itself??
To: Mo1
I confess--I went over to MSNBC again and they just reported 4 counts filed against her.

The military was handling the investigations and preparing charges. These clowns needed an opportunity to turn it into a political sideshow.
Fortunately these grandstanding arrogant Congressmen/women will not be in charge of Hussein's War Crimes tribunals. They'd exonerate him and blame the United States.
Those trials will put their shameful conduct in perspective.

Are you people not pissed? I find that odd!! Yes I'm pissed .. but I try to control my anger and keep it in check the best I can
We are in for a long fight .. so don't use all your energy up at once
Besides .. the libs ended up looking like fools at this hearing and a few of them have some explaining to do

Every time I've seen this individual on a thread it turns into people trying to "talk him/her down". It's increasingly appearing to be a contrivance.

The GQ atricle of Powell's men (his people) going on the record saying that Powell has had to put out fires sent by the Neocons in the administration, that he disagrees with a harline cuban policy (hello FLA) that "Condi is a jerk" and that the President is an idiot wasn't helpful.
They had to have Condi's consent!!!

oh Ok .. I'll let that quicky slide .*L*
Maybe we should designate one person to watch MSNBC .. that way we can find out what they are saying without giving them all the ratings?

I thought Rumsfield did well, finally he and Myers both gave and emotional, fiery defense of the country and the good reputation of our armed forces world wide.(In response to a particularly insulting, hand wring indictment by a dem.)

Yeah, I just worry that we see it how it is, but there are a lot of Americans who don't see it that way.
I think the media and the Left have behaved awfully and in ways consistent with treason. I think they must have polls telling them that it is safe to do this-- that troubles me to my core.
I also think they have more energy on their side-- Code Pink, all the networks, most of the written media, all of the foreign press, some people in State and the Pentagon, Michael Moore, Simon & Schuster, the sitcoms. The RINOS in Congress and the administration don't seem to be tough enough in the face of this unrelenting, subversive, Leftist onslaught.
That's just how I feel.
