Oregon Man Arrested in Spain Bombings Probe

WASHINGTON  — FBI agents arrested a Portland, Ore., man Thursday as part of the investigation into the deadly train bombings in Spain, federal officials said.

Brandon Bieri Mayfield, a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody on a material witness warrant, said a senior law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The arrest, first reported in Newsweek, is the first known in the United States with connections to the March 11 bombings in Madrid.

The FBI also searched his home, which he shares with his wife, the official said.

When things like this break open, I am amazed at how fast the Good Freepers get into these cases like a cross between a blood hound and a pit bull.

Just go back and look at what was uncovered in the first 70 to 100 replies after I posted this thread. Ernest had given me a heads up. I had to leave before an hour was up, and the data then was amazing.

Now we know who he is. That he was a lawyer. What he looks like and other data.

Free Republic is the best tool/weapon that we have in our daily battle with the liberals and their Islamo buddies.

This is just another example of why all of us should be monthly donors to Free Republic. One can only imagine if we had double the Freepers, what can be uncovered.

When I saw his picture, your statement above ran through my old mind. This POS has probably hated America since he became a teenager. That hatred was increased while he was in college and law school. Now we are seeing what that hate American behavior can do.

International muslim terrorism is a diabolic force. Islam should be quite concerned about the long term implications. Why would, for instance, the US allow any of them to come here?

It was indeed. I lived here before, when it was merely a 'liberal' city... before it evolved into a fever swamp for the moonbats (If I may paraphrase Lileks). We moved back here last year from Seattle with memories of the way things had been only to find Mordor. And the really sad part about it, is that the good people here have been spoon fed the 'tolerance' elixer for so long, that they are no longer capable of judgement nor discrimination. They eat poison like food in terms of ideas, and accept anything that they are told as long as it comes from the 'Left'; even if it comes from the likes of Mayfield. When they say "anyone but Bush," they mean that they would trust anyone else with the safety of their children rather than the President or any other Republican, even if that means, Osama or Mayfield or even tied up in a bag with rocks and chucked into the Willamette if no other choice is available. I cannot tell you how a population gets to be so twisted from reason. But, history contains far too many examples to think it a fluke, and here we are at the precipice once again... swords drawn, pleading with our brethren for some semblance of sanity.

On this whole thread, nobody has mentioned one more islamofacist in Oregon, a few months ago, remember the one who worked for Intel? They kept him without charging him and his family set up a webpage, saying how "nice" and a good family man he was?
Help me out with names, he wasn't tied into the Oregon 7 that I know of.
