The immediate aim of the strike is to intimidate Bush causing a failure at the poll and to set Kerry up to win.

This guy has it all backwards. The U.S. is different from Western European nations in one crucial respect . . . any such attack against the U.S. would result in an overwhelming landslide victory for Bush, particularly if the U.S. responds to such an attack in a hideous, overwhelming fashion.

If anything, Kerry's best chances at getting elected involve nothing of this sort happening between now and November, because Americans only have time to be concerned about stupid things like protection from telemarketers, No Children Left Behind, Medicare prescription drugs, out-sourcing of jobs, the environment, etc. when we are delusional enough to believe that these are the most important things in our lives.
