Color me skeptical. We've seen bogus interviews before, and this smells like another one to me. The Islamo-fascists may be maniacal and stupid, but surely not so maniacal and stupid as to believe: 1) that such a scenario would entail a Kerry victory instead of a Bush one; and 2) any such attack would not have devastating ramifications in the Middle East.

If a nuke or some other WMD is detonated in the U.S., I would not be suprised to see one mysteriously detonated in, say, Mecca. And I would not be surprised to learn that jihadists understand that something like this would happen. Effective management of the psychology of terror means that strikes will not be too catastrophic, lest proportionate (or even disproporationate) responses by those terrorized ensue.

Don't know about nukes. Doubt if Pakistan will be willing to sell it to the terrorists at large. Unless Musharaff gets killed and the ISI (the guys who formed the Taliban) takes over.

Biological weapons - more likely. Here is a weapon they can use. Take mycobacterium tuberculosis and insert the cholera toxin gene in it (details on how to can be found in a book, Germs of War, booksurge.com). TB is very hardy and will survive in airports, etc. The cholera toxin gene, which causes massive cellular extravasation, will lead to rapid pulmonary edema and death. This will take a laboratory a few weeks to make and one suicide "biobomber" with a tourist visa and "visit America" airline pass a month to spread it around.

Will it kill them as well? Sure, but you are not talking rational people here. This is serious folks, not a joking matter.

I believe if this attack were to happen, it would indeed have their desired effect. I also don't believe that there is any such thing as a sleeper cell. Our domestic intellegence is far to sophisticated to allow such an event to occur.
