If Arabs did this to Americans, I'd be really, realy angry, as I am whenever Americans are mistreated.

I'd be relieved and a bit angry too,
but in reality, the Islamic thugs, do not
do this to our soldiers and civilians...
THEY, muder our guys and women, behead some,
set others on fire and hang some from bridges
or from momuments in public squares.

Hardly an even "abuse" IMHO.

I just note that this will NOT lessen the attacks.

You're right. If anything, it will make the enemies of the United States and GWB (both domestic and foreign) more bold and demanding. I fear the Left has found the "Bush scandal" it has been looking for these past 3+ years. I do note, however, that they stone cold silent on the massive, genuine UN oil-for-food scandal.

Trouble is, in the muslim world, that makes GWB (and the US) appear weak(er).

Is this what they call weak??

It wouldn't surprise me in the least. Soros has enough money to grease some palms to set something like this up. Talk someone into having the soldiers do this, then take pictures of it 'for posterity'.

He said he'd do anything to make sure Bush loses.

Excellent point. There is always a total double standard with the Left.

I know this is somewhat different, but somehow I keep seeing little Elian G. with a rifle barrel pointed at close range into his terrified little innocent face. The Left weren't calling for Reno's resignation or demanding apologies from Clinton for that and those orders came directly from the top. They were for sending Elian back to the wolves, and they did. Isn't that some kind of genuine torture...to forcibly and traumatically, at gunpoint, uproot a little child from a loving home in a land of freedom that his mother had died to provide for him, and send him back to an impoverished communist dictatorship?

This is probably the worst thread to take for a first post, but what the heck. Little Miss Dynamite looks like the safest.

There is a big difference between saying, "Judge, I'm sorry I slipped that black widow in Nancy Pelosi's glove; I'll pay my fine." and "I'm sorry Nancy Pelosi is an elected official from CA; I'm sorry the dimwits elected her." From my experience thus far, President Bush knows if, when and how to apologize.

Consider, too, that Dick Clarke is credited with having apologized to 9/11 families. What he said was, "Your government failed you. I failed you." That is a confession and not an apology. I don't remember his having said he apologized or felt responsible for the death of their loved ones.

Hi, Onyx. Good to hear from you on this thread. Your comments are absolutely right on. BTW, have you noted how quickly the media ginned up a firestorm over the prisoner abuse "scandal," in contrast to their nearly unanimous silence on the massive UN oil-for-food scam? And then they wonder why we think they are biased. Hah!

I heard a sound bite from Joe Biden in the Senate. I think he said that there would have been less flak over all this if the prisoners had been shot.

He would be right only if there were no pics of our soldiers shooting the prisoners.

It's all about the pics. Merely reading or hearing about the "humiliating" acts - or acts of killing, as Biden suggested - wouldn't have had nearly the same effect, and the story would probably would've been dead by now. But photos are infinitely more powerful than words.

Any word yet about who took the photos and how they made their way to the sharks in the leftist media?

Thanks for your kind words.
Yes indeed! Media are all too gleeful.
Anything they think will bring down POTUS.
Their bias and Kerry advocacy are becoming
all too obvious.

After all, it is Kerry who smeared the military
30 years ago, and for that he's a hero in their minds,
his questionable medals and ribbons be damned.

Nice image.

Concerning the apology, I believe it's clear that the President was apologizing to our allies for the behaviour of our troops.

In that light he should be saying the right things to those who believed in our mission.

None, but I do know that they taken by the people involved and were under wraps.

Some suggestions indicated possible congressional involvement and I belive that Seymore Hersh is also involved.

You know.....the guy who broke the Mei Li story.

My guess is that congress leaked them to him and it then went to the network.

But, I cannot prove it yet. I have not seen anything that points anywhere as of yet. It will come out though. Yes it will............

Are there other similar threads?

I only read and replied to her thread posted today
wherein she opined that Kerry has a 70% chance of
being POTUS at this time next year.

The UN oil for food scandal kind of fell off the radar scope didn't it? I thought the biased media wouldn't have the guts to drop it after it was revealed that Khofi himself has told companies not to cooperated with investigators. I guess I was wrong.

Why did you post that to me?

First you hate what's happening in Fallujah. Then you all of a sudden "get it", and now back to hating.

I am getting confused.

FWIW. I'd like you to stay.

Or at least come back here and celebrate the election win, and the first elections in Iraq in 2005. We can reminicense about the old days :-)

Cheers.
