I'm leaving now, to pick up The Cutest Kid Ever Born from school, and to take him Mother's Day shopping for his mom.
Please, keep up the good fight. All of you who are, that is. :-)

And the craziest thing is, Rush actually strongly supports the President, and still these people hate him.
I can't vouch for Savage as I haven't listened to him in a while.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT'S COUNCIL ON COMPASSONATE CONSERVATISM
Howlin, you're susposed to "hire" the handicapped, not aggrevate them.
Wow, looks like Kerry's Kids are practically wetting themselves over some Iraqi prisoners being treated like fraternity pledges.

"But, he is a sorry President. His actions over the last two days makes it really look like he is switching into klinton's infamous "legacy building mode". Now THAT'S sorry."
Oh, please ! Try looking beyond the tip of your nose. Do you have any idea of how delicate the work we're doing in the Middle East really is ? Do you have any idea of how difficult it is to keep all the "coalition of the willing" players in the tent ? Do you have any idea of how many millions of muslims surround our troops everyday... not just in Iraq but Iran, Saudi, Jordon, Syria, et al ? President Bush isn't "switching" into anything he leaves that to fair weather, blowhards.
Some people say President Bush plays poker with his opponents but I think it is more like playing chess... In poker you may have to rely on bluffing to win, in chess, you just keep positioning yourself to take them out even though they can see it coming. IOW, he sees beyond his nose, you oughta try it sometime.

I believe that the President's apology is intended to say that He, as Commander-in-Chief is ultimately responsible for the actions of the men under his command... unlike his predecessor... thus absolving blame from Rummy. But, neither of these men is guilty of anything accept in the eyes of the Left for perhaps upholding the defense and dignity of this great nation in the face of butchers, liers, heathens, and otherwise tiny little men. This is very well stated. Thank you.

The following is an excerpt of what our President (a compassionate and strong man) said today. To any, and I mean any that find fault or think that the President is soft really need to examine themselves and their thought processes. Some might consider someone being soft, while others considers that same person as having a soul, a heart.
We also talked about what has been on the TV screens recently, not only in our own country but overseas: the images of cruelty and humiliation. I've told His Majesty as plainly as I could that the wrongdoers will be brought to justice and that the actions of those folks in Iraq do not represent the values of the United States of America.
I told him I was sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families.
BUSH: I told him I was equally sorry that the -- that people would see those pictures, didn't understand the true nature and heart of America. I assured him that Americans like me didn't appreciate what we saw, and it made us sick to our stomachs.
I also made it clear to His Majesty that the troops we have in Iraq, who were there for security and peace and freedom, are the finest of the fine, fantastic United States citizens, who represent the very best qualities of America: courage, love of freedom, compassion and decency.
And for, Your Majesty, how much damage did these images do in your country?
King Abdullah:
ABDULLAH: Mr. President, I think the reaction in Jordan as well as the reaction here in the United States was the same. I think we're all horrified by the images.
But as has been clearly explained here in Washington, an immediate investigation has been asked for to bring the people who perpetrated these heinous crimes to justice. And we hope that that will happen very quickly. And it doesn't reflect on the morals, the values, that the United States stands for.
I am quite convinced that once the investigation was under way, those that are guilty of these crimes will be brought to justice.

Exactly right.
My question (posed to me by a brilliant man)
"aren't the really stupid ones in all of this hoopla,
the ones who took the photos and the ones who appeared
in the photos?"
Two Arab journalists on O'Reilly last night,
both agreed that this so-called abuse, is/was not
such a big deal on the Arab street...
Thanks to our Bush-hating media, this is
overblown, and, in turn, this silliness,
keeps the food for oil UN scandal buried.
Our media and the democrats (along with
some folks here) are all too gleeful.

Rush is increasingly becoming an embarassment.
He's had a good 20 years, but I'm afraid the pressure of all his legals troubles have gotten to him.

Thanks for posting that. In this context President Bush apologizing to a friend and ally makes much sense.

I'm sure that now that Bush has apologized the Islamic world and US media will be satisfied.I'm sure they won't be satisfied, and will keep stamping their feet and screeching. If President Bush went on national TV and said "I'm sorry for having the audacity to be elected President in 2000!" and then stuck a shotgun in his mouth, the Rats, the media and the Arabs (as well as the I-Hate-Bush Brigade on FR) would bitch and moan about why he didn't off himself sooner. Nothing he does will make these people happy, and I think he's probably quite well aware of that.
But the majority of the public will now look at the craven little weasels in the Congress and the media pitching their hissy fits and say "Look, he said he was sorry this happened. Let's wrap up the investigation, punish those who deserve it, put measures in place to keep this from happening again, and GET OVER IT!" Naturally, the Rats won't listen and will keep screeching and carping and demanding resignations, and just as naturally they'll get whacked by the backlash for the umpteenth time.

"Wonder who did leak these pictures?"
I could name some suspects, but I have only circumstantial evidence. I say we call for an investigation of the issue. I bet it comes back to a Democrat in the Senate, though.
To: Howlin
Exactly on point. Since they are crying such huge crocodile tears about the prisoners who were humiliated, and they are demanding the resignation of Rumsfeld, I want them to also start calling for the withdrawal of F'n Kerry. And then, if Hillary should get the nomination, I want HER military service record brought into the election contest. (Tongue in cheek)
