It's been good. Shows irakis how a democracy handles a brouhaha like this.
And after they calm down, Irakis will appreciate the apologies by bigwigs like Condi, Amritage, Kimmitt, Miller and now the President. They will contrast with other Arab countries and even their own plight under Saddam.
Will give moderate secularist ProAmericans Arabs some ammo in showing to their countrymen how the US handles its dirty laundry in contrast to their own leaders.
But, I still maintain Rumsfeld must go. This debacle has done irreparable harm to the USA's strategic goals there, and he should take one for the country and the President, seeing how, for a variety of reasons, the systematic abuse falls under his bailiwick.

I missed Biden(at lunch) but I wouldn't put it past him.

I, Brad's Gramma, am sorry for that last hurricane the east coast lived through. Sooooooooooo... It was you....
To: Dane
"Because your "talk" brings it on."
So.. You don't like what I'm saying, stuff not directed at you at all, and you can call me whatever?
That's how it works right? Is that how FR is supposed to be?

I was going to type it but see post 199.
Bush's speech was more of a tribute to all the heroes who serve honourable in Iraq.

BG..........reading the actual words takes all the FUN out of it when you want to be MAD all the time.
I've learned a whole lot about the left since I joined FR, but I knew they were all emotions and no thought.
What I've been surprised and dismayed by, is that they have a counterpart on the far right who emotes without reason......
THINK, people.......THINK!

Right. And this too shall pass.
Meanwhile we are taking it to Sadr's militia.

And after, Bush and King Abdullah hugged, then strolled to the Starbucks in Georgetown for some espresso.

(We did not have to prove Saddam had WMD, he had to prove he didn't.)
To: Billthedrill
I think that's actually pretty clever of the Prez - Abdullah is a U.S. ally, he's just had a real al-Qaeda/WMD scare, he's been a rock of support for our intelligence efforts, and the guys we really don't like, (Syrians, Iranians) have been trying to destabilize him for years. Said to him this bolsters his standing in the Arab world. Great move, IMHO. Excellent take.

That wasn't one dimensional, Dane, that was 3D hon People on FR already know your world view is based on wearing glasses with one lense green and one lense red, and going nutso over your God, Bob Woodward.

He phrased it the same way the manager at Arby's apolgizes for a rude employee. "I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I just want you to know it won't happen again."
He didn't take blame for it.

The media's like -- the whole Blue Nation is like -- a hard-up crack head.
Giving in to them doesn't "put them behind you." They just attack you
harder the next time 'cause that's how they got their fix the last time they freaked.
I hope I'm dead wrong. I hope Bush will move on now. Let's see what happens. |

I am absolutely floored that Rush would say something so irresponsible and ignorant!I'm surprised at Rush, too, but wait until Michael Savage gets on the air later today. Talk about irresponsible!

He darn well better! He & a lot of freepers are behaving in a very disloyal way today IMO .. it's just built up frustration in what the Dems have been doing and saying
The President did the right thing today .. we have a war to fight
And the Dems look petty by attacking our troops
