How many hours before a Kerry TV ad flashes the President's "I'm sorry" in living rooms here and around the globe?

Bush's retreat on this is most unfortunate. The instincts of this White House aren't great. Limbaugh's tact would have been preferable. This is appeasement--Bush shouldn't constantly cave to the dems and the media.

If Bush is elected, we will win this war. Republicans will not cut and run...well, except for a few folks who don't have the stomach for it.

Can we all move on now?Of course not, silly.
Now the left will move with all due haste to portray GWB as the man who actually ordered the "torture" of these peaceful muslim prisoners. After that comes the indictment from the ICC.

Now what were you saying to me yesterday in capital letters? The only thing I said about you yesterday is that you don't like anybody except white people.
LOL!
It's amazing how a certain few people on the Free Republic can slander and libel people with nothing, no quotes, nothing to back up these hysterical accusations. You are a very protected person here Howlin. I don't know how you get away with this.
What are YOU talking about?
Playing ignorant now?
You know exactly what I'm taking about. LOL!
When I explained to you the President had already apologized through his *top* advisors and others in his administration. And you piped up with, "HE DID NOT APOLOGIZE!!"
I understand your upset honey. But please stop with the unprovoked personal attacks. It gets tiresome and makes you look foolish.

Frankly, it is time that these dittoheads learn to think for themselves! I used to agree with Rush's point of view nearly 100% of the time, but I find more and more to disagree with him about lately. This is one of those times.
I find Hugh Hewitt much more enjoyable to listen to. He's not wrapped as tight as Rush and seems to be more politically astute these days.

Here's the new talking point by the DNC (my prediction):
President Bush apologizes to Iraqi prisoners and enemy combatants for humiliating them (no longer abusing them) but he won't apologize to Americans and 9/11 families.
Just watch.

but very few people will actually see that speech, the media will filter and twist it. by the time the 6PM news rolls around - this story will morph into "Bush apology spells the end of Rumsfeld and a re-assessment of the Iraqi war effort".
That's the problem. and that is likely what Rush is talking about.
To: cyncooper
He has always said the acts depicted in the photos are offensive and shocking and are not officially sanctioned. Exactly. So why would he say it again, using the word "sorry", except as capitulation to the left?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush told Jordan's King Abdullah on Thursday he was sorry for the humiliation suffered by Iraqi prisoners who have been abused by their American jailers.
"I told him I was sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families," the Republican president said during a Rose Garden appearance with Abdullah.
Seems to me there is lot of difference in appologizing to the affected people Iraqi people etc and saying to someone else to be sorry
