Kerry’s Canadian Bus

Something to Yak About: Kerry’s Canadian Bus
While John Kerry and a fair number of folks in the Not Liberally Biased Establishment Media got their knickers in a twist over the origin of the Bush-Cheney campaign bus, it seems some of the early coverage overlooked a related factoid – Kerry’s Canadian Campaign Bus.

Maybe It Was His Campaign’s Family’s Bus
John Kerry’s flacks have weighed in the bus issue, but the Gentleman from Massachusetts has so far remained silent on it, so Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie offered up his own statement that could easily be cribbed by Kerry if his speechwriters go off the reservation again.

And Speaking of Canadian Vehicles…
John Kerry has painstakingly differentiated between his cars and those of his wife and other people in his family, flipping and flopping all over the issue like a lunker in an Alumacraft. On April 30, Kerry was quoted in an AP article saying, "I own a Dodge 600 that I've had for about 20 years. I own a Chrysler 300M… All my cars are American." Not so, amigo. Turns out Kerry’s 2002 Mopar was made in Ontario! As a matter of fact, The Canadian Business Resource notes that the Brampton, Ontario home of the 300M is the “sole corporate provider,” of the “American” car Kerry drives. Beauty, eh?

What’s It All About?
It’s about the Kerry campaign desperately wanting to talk about buses instead of fighting terrorism, cars instead of economic policy – anything except the issues that matter. It’s also about whether the man can shoot straight – whether it’s about voting for the 87 billion before voting against it, or the country of origin of his car. Canada is part of the Americas. In fact I know for certain the Canadian coat of arms is displayed on Sixth Avenue (aka The Avenue of the Americas)in New York City. So as Obi-wan would say from a certain point of view Kerry is correct. But then the Bush campaign bus would be "American" too.

Still chuckling... But I think I know what it is. There's a certain Chuck Jones ( Who?! Hint: think Warner Bros. ) quality to the expression on W's face.
