Syria and Pakistan have stressed mutual keenness on enhancing the standing relations of cooperation in economic, trade and scientific fields.
Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Ottri and Pakistani Deputy Foreign Minister Shawkat Saed on Wednesday discussed the current situation in the region, particularly in Palestine and in Iraq.
The two sides asserted the importance of exerting all efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the international legitimacy resolutions.
For his part, Saed who is currently on a visit to Syria, expressed his country's support to Syria's national stance and just causes.
Earlier, the Pakistani official and Education Minister Ali Sa'd discussed prospects of educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing them.
They stressed the importance of the deep-rooted relations between both countries, asserting the necessity of exchanging expertise in the educational fields in the interest of the two friendly countries.

The signs are growing that Pakistan's true, backstabbing nature will soon emerge into the open. We are fools to believe the Pakistanis are our friends. We were foolish to leave India's 9/12/2001 offer of hard alliance in the WOT on the table and, instead, pressuring Pakistan for feigned alliance. We could have used the bases in India to conduct a highly effective campaign against both Pakistan and Taliban Afghanistan. Oh, but the spirit of Von Clausewitz was not in the minds of our decision makers. Big mistake.

Yup. Pakistan may be against Al Queda, but it is an integral piece in the militant Islamic movement and funds terrorism which murders Indians and other people. Pakistani is basically acting like Saudi Arabia. Both are terrorist enemies of the US and support terrorism.

AXIS OF EVIL alert.
Something tells me that these "economic, trade and scientific fields" involve the development and deployment of weapons of mass destruction and the export of terrorism.

Many Pakis are dangerous Islamist scum and virtually none of them can be trusted. But I'm not sure that doing a short-term deal with Musharraf was such a bad idea. There are something like 140 million of them and they have nukes. So we paid some money, got some basing, some intelligence, arrested some players there and took custody of them, exposed A. Q. Khan, etc. So maybe at some point in the future we wind up having to take a stick to them. We can't fight everybody all at once.

Pakistan may be against Al Queda,
I kind of doubt that, they mostly just give lip service and hype (oooh, we have the aq second in command in our sights, give us $4billion. Thanks for giving it to us, ooops, we missed him and he was really the 32nd in command.....)

True, but when you're fighting the Hydra, you don't chop off its heads, you aim for the heart and the heart is Saudi A (for funds) and Pak (for manpower and training)

I would say that Mussaraf personally hates Al Queda because they want to overthrow him. But I promise you that's the only reason, not because he feels for the 3000 murdered on 9/11.
