Jennifer Dunn was able to hold the 8th District against "Hapless Heidi" Behrens for years. Now that she's leaving, the seat may change.
The 8th voted for Gore and is populated by soccer moms and Microsofties. The D's believe the 8th is ready to turn Democratic, and they're putting serious money into it.
In Washington State terminology, Ross would be classified as a "Scoop Jackson" Democrat or a "Dan Evans" Republican, which is pretty much the same thing. It's a bit late to get into the race, but he could change the calculus. He's very popular.

"King County Sheriff Dave Reichert, GOP activist and former federal prosecutor Diane Tebelius, Bellevue City Councilman Conrad Lee and state Sen. Luke Esser."
I like Reichert and Esser, but what about the King County Commissioner guy (whose name I forget)? I thought he was standing in line for that seat?

I hear this clown's brief commentaries on the "news" AM radio station in the 'Frisco area, and he's insufferable.

I haven't listened to Ross for years but isn't he the socialist who often claims to be libertarian?

Thanks for posting this. Now I understand John Carlson's remark this afternoon about being a Seattle-area talk show host NOT running for the 8th Cong.
