SPOTREP - FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION sustained
To: concernedAmerican1
When John Miller politely offered the Dean of Students a TFP flier, he rudely replied: I dont want that garbage. It will be a sad day if it ever comes to a point when saying an obvious truth is considered hate speech. Of course our Canadian buddies are almost to that point. Good work, btw.

Ironic isn't it! These people, gay folks that is, they can't just live with their lifestyle. They have to go out of their way to cram it down the throats of those not holding to their views even though those opposed don't care what they do personally.
So these people push, and push, and push, and won't stop at simple ability to live their life in their own way. No! They insist that others not believing their views irreversably alter their own morals to suit them.
Then, when people finally start saying "Screw THIS! I'm tired of being walked over and on like a door mat", and finally do something about it, the gay activists get all bent out of shape.
It really is unbelieveable. I still say that if conservatives and those not taking the sides of activists gave back the activists half of what they dish out they'd go cowering away with their tails between their legs crying for their attorneys and representatives.

It's ironic too. The same thing has happened with smokers over time. Back in the 70s and 80s many smokers were very rude insisting on their "rights" to smoke. Personally I support that right, but when I'm sitting at a bar eating or somewhere else sitting and their smoke is blowing right in my face and it's a simple fix to move the ashtray to the other side or blow the smoke the other way and all you're met with is smoke in your face or simple apathy with no action, it speaks volumes.
Then, the pendulum began to swing the other way. Non-smokers started getting angry at smokers which is why I will hold to is the primary reason behind all of this anti-smoking movement. They got angry b/c of these "screw you, I'm entitled to my right to smoke and don't care if it bothers you" mentality. Obviously not all, but many.
I'm convinced that had the smokers not taken these positions, that they'd have a lot more friends who are non-smokers. I oppose smoking bans b/c there are really underlying agendas. But don't expect most Americans who aren't "plugged in" to realize that.
Anyway, I see it much the same with the gay movement. They can't just be happy with their own rights, they insist on infringing on the rights of others. They aren't happy with a simple recognition of their rights by those opposed even though as a demographic group they are much better off than just about all demographic groups other than from health/aids standpoints, not the fault of anyone but themselves.
At some point people say "enough is enough", I'm not believing what you believe just b/c you say so. The whole thing is just unbelieveable.

Our posters were torn down, said Shippensburg University College Republicans president Walt Bair, unperturbed by the liberal opposition.
That's pretty tame compared to what our CR club has gone through at UT. During Relay for Life, our $200 cutout of President Bush was vandalized. When we complained to the police, he literally laughed at us and refused to do anything even after we caught the guy who did it.
Last week, someone took car poster paint and wrote over my Bush bumper sticker on my car, "one term president." I'd like to tell them that vandalism isn't protected under the First Amendment.

Well done!

Conservative is the ultimate cool. Socialist Liberalism was cool during the sixties but it's so passe' now. I was in college during the sixties. What if we had dressed up in the styles of the twenties and thirties? Racoon coats, porkpie hats? Twenty three skidoo? Nowadays that would be original (although some PETA terrorist would probably shank you for the racoon coat). The point is that todays' protesting college students are as anachronistic as their trite and boring values. Mostly it has to do with bedding the young, overexcited ladies and believe me, I enjoyed my share of it. I would be amused if I had sons. Not so amused if I had daughters.
