If Europe had listened to the Church and not swallowed 'the pill' and used abortion as the second line of defense against children, European socialism would not need Muslims imported to work their dole society. They don't need them anyway.
Economists will tell you that there is no such thing as a labor shortage--only an unwillingness to pay people enough to get off the couch.

Yes, just as many countries had to be taken over by the Nazis before we got serious about Hitler.

According to Fallaci, the West has not realized that it is under attack, and that this war "wants to hit our soul rather than our body. Our way of life, our philosophy of life. Our way of thinking, acting and loving. Our freedom. Do not be fooled by their explosives. That is just a strategy. The terrorists, the kamikazes, do not kill us just for the sake of killing us. They kill us to bend us. To intimidate us, tire us, demoralize us, blackmail us." She's a very interesting writer. I'm looking forward to reading her next book.

An atheistic christian is one whose culture is based in large measure on christianity, as is, indeed, a good chunk of their ethical and moral beliefs.
But, in the absence of belief in Jesus, these ethical commandments become recommendations, then habit, then custom, and finally superstition.
it's not her fault that some readers can't keep up.

brilliant?
she denies Jesus the Christ, the bedrock of Western culture, while decrying the demise of the West
that is insane, not brilliant
there's a fine line between insanity and brilliance

Valid point. I was addressing her comments, her thesis on the ongoing clash of cultures..the war on terror..however, for your benefit, I'll modify my statemnet. "She's brilliant, compared to 99.9% of the Europeans"..OK? can't we all just get along now...(G)

she denies the bedrock of the West (Christ)
while decrying the collapse of the culture
she may have good ideas, but her work is the perfect example of reason without faith
fides et ratio: they go together - reason is a gift from God

There is no West without Christ.
Without Christ there are merely pagan tribes to be conquered as once they were in time past.
