DUNN, N.C. -- A family skate night at a local rink is being called anything but wholesome.

Explicit lyrics were heard at the Wheels skating rink in Dunn last weekend. Two parents, upset about the music, filed a report with the Dunn Police Department.

You would think that the skating rink would tailor the music to their audience.

I had a similar experience once when I took my young kids to Burger King and they had a large-screen TV tuned to MTV. I complained to the employees behind the counter that their choice of programming was inappropriate but they just shrugged, so we left and haven't been back.

You should have complained to the manager who has more at stake in the success of his business than the minimum wage employees do.

It sounds like it's still used; just a different sort of organ...

There was no manager present - just two kids who obviously had the program on for themselves.

Oh for God's sakes. Yeah, call the cops...that's the ticket. Not.

Then come back when there is someone with responsibility present, or call the district manager.

I took the kids to Burger King once in Dearborn, MI. The kids meal was priced at $2.99, but when I was looking at the bill, instead of charging me for a kids meal, they charged separately for the component items. I found that they were overcharging by 50-75 cents. Thinking about this, if they made 75 cents extra profit on every kids meal, that adds up to thousands a year.

I called BK Corporate in Miami and heard a big blank sound of nothing ever since. Evidently they don't care.

Any sign of Scott Ritter trolling for young chicks?

This fits in nicely with something I saw the other week in the Wall Street Journal (I'm pretty sure it was there) about how Burger King is dying. Mostly just poor customer service stuff, like "dirty stores". Now there is just no excuse for these things, if you can't keep your store clean and respond to customer complaints, you deserve to go out of business.

Of course, the real solution to that would be to raise the minimum wage. ;)
