You know, I had a feeling that this guy would escape.
He didn't have that "deer caught in the headlights" look in the video of him being held captive.

As much as I think Jessee Jackson is a moron, if he could somehow talk the nuts into releasing our hostages I'd have nothing but respect for him (even if he is just doing it for the publicity).

In all honesty, I didn't think he'd live to see the next day. It was the most excellent news on FOX this morning!

What wonderful news to wake up to this morning!

I will enter His courts with praise!
I will say 'This is the day that the Lord has made!'
I will rejoice for He has made me glad!"

His sweet Grandmother is on the phone on Fox and Friends praising the Lord. What a great way to start off Sunday!

Think you hit it. The Sadr militia boys got bored. One went for lunch, the other fell asleep. Have a feeling Hammil just watched their patterns and took advantage of it. A dairy farmer lives by the clock.

I have to agree with you there. I would be a hypocrite if I was excited about President Bush flying into Baghdad on Thanksgiving but not give kudos to Jackson for entering a war zone to negotiate a release. But this is the difference between me and the lefties. I can give credit where it is due. They cannot.

You're right, he had the "I'm thinking" look in his eyes.

Slightly off topic, but I wanted to mention something about dairy farmers and truck drivers (since Hamill was a dairy farmer and is now driving a truck in Iraq). I was talking with a dairy farmer once who was concerned about his son driving a milk run. Apparently, it is a rather hazardous and difficult situation driving a tanker that is not completely full. The load sloshes around in the tank and the truck loses much in stablity and handling. From the way this farmer was describing it, one needed nerves of steel to drive one of these milk trucks. Hamill could very well have just what this old fellow described.

"... Not wanting to let any good news go uncontested, Barry says he finds it hard to believe..."
So true, you've really nailed it here. For some reason, any good news from Iraq just seems to rub these dirtbags the wrong way. It's absolutely sickening.

"...Is his "escape" or "release" a clever propaganda point on the side of the insurgents in light of this Iraqi prison scandal?.."
Cleverness is not an attribute of these fanatics. Have you ever seen them pass up a chance to make themselves hated, even by their most strident proponents? Like the way they bombed the Spanish, planted bombs in France, bombed the U.N., etc, etc, etc. They daily prove, even to the stupid, that they are out to kill and enslave any and all non-muslims, even if said non-muslims try kissing up to them. Propoganda experts they are not.

They paid a few million huh?
Haliburton would be taking a huge risk for more of their employees to be snatched. Kidnap Haliburton employees because they pay real goooood, would be the word on the Iraqi street.
I don't think so...
